Good morning all!

Wondering if there is a way to subscribe to a member - as in receiving a notification when they post. There are several members here who contribute information that I find extremely beneficial and I would like to keep up with what they have to say and advice they provide. I know I can subscribe to threads...but haven't found an option to do so with an individual.

Any intel?

As martinc said, 'lasts posts by' would work.

If it's someone who's opinion you value, you could send them a PM. They might be happy to hear that their posts are helpful to you. See if they mind if you PM them from time to time for advice.

When I started vaping there were many members that encouraged people to do that, almost like a mentor type thing. It was a tremendous help to me and I think I was successful at transitioning from smoking to vaping because of it. I'm sure many people here would be happy to help.

Given that the "Latest Posts" link on user profiles is a standard hyperlink, one could bookmark that link for any user one might be interested in following. The link name could be edited to that person's username or even shorter. Then for convenience, it could be placed in the Bookmark Bar of one's browser. Then the link would be but one click away anytime one might wish to check that particular user's latest posts.

VERY good idea.

Haven't PMd them yet, but I may have to...maybe if they started a blog, subscriptions would be an option? I'm currently using the search latest posts function...but it can be a daunting task for the several members I try to keep up with.

Thank you for the responses!
Hillbillie, following up on the hyperlink option, you could also create a bookmark folder that you could place in your Bookmark Bar to hold links to the latest posts of various users you wish to keep up with. Then, it would just be a matter of clicking on that folder and selecting one of the users in there.

That would work if it were only a specific thread I was tracking, yes? I can subscribe and receive notifications of thread updates...but if a member begins a new thread, then I'm SOL with the bookmark idea. Unless, of course, I bookmark the individual....oooooooo....now THAT's an idea! Did I just come up with that myself or I'd someone recommend that and I just now "got it?"

;)
