Subscribed Discussions

I know about Subscribed Threads, Forums, and Groups. But, what are Subscribed Discussions. Or, rather, what are Discussions?

Most would consider discussion/threads in the same light.

However, as a heads up, the new software we're looking at treats discussions as a PM.

Thank you. So, I guess the section for 'Subscribed Discussions' at the bottom of the Settings page doesn't do anything?

Subscribed Discussions are threads to which you've subscribed within the Social Groups (as opposed to forum threads, which show at the top as Subscribed Threads).

Oh, like a Subscribed Threads but within Groups? Let me go try that real quick.

OK. I see. If I subscribe to a Thread within a Group, it gets listed along with the rest of the Subscribed Threads. But, any Threads within Groups that were subscribed to previously get listed under Subscribed Discussions.

IOW, Subscribed Threads is a deprecated section, correct?

Not quite. There are Social Groups here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/ , and there are associated forums for several of them here: Social Group Forums . The former are Groups, not forums, and when you subscribe to a thread in that Group, that's a Subscribed Discussion. The latter are forums, but associated with those groups. If you subscribe in the forum, it's like anywhere else on ECF, and it's a Subscribed Thread.

The Subscribed Discussions, in general, are not obsolete, as there are many active Social Groups. If you aren't seeing anything there, it only means that discussion in that group to which you subscribed no longer has posts (or yeah, the subscription you made may be obsolete).

If I have gone to something I have subscribed to...and then go back to my subscriptions...that item will no longer show, and it won't show again until there are new posts.


Clicking on View all subscribed discussions, will make them all show.
