I love my subtank mini v1 I only use it with the rba the original RBA I have other ones the smaller holes and also another one with bigger holes the Plus I still feel the first one is the best Ive gone through a number of rta's and nothing can still give me flavor like the subtank mini I use nothing under 70 vg never dry hits never lets me down and I've had this thing for what two years now I got it as soon as they came out I can't say enough good things about this still the best tank in my opinion still looking for other good tanks like I said I've gone through quite a few but nothing stands up to the subtank mini except for I must say the lemo 2 is pretty awesome as well

What other tanks have you got/tried other than the Lemo 2?

I liked the SubTank at the time as a good, solidly-made all-rounder, but IMO it wasn't a 'flavour machine' - I rate tanks like the Taifun GT2 and Flash-e-Vape v3 higher on that scale personally.

You're not the only person I've heard that says that the earlier revisions of those RBA decks were better.

Are you talking about the one that has no holes and screws on instead of having that small screw to remove the cap portion the deck?

I think you must mean the version that came in the protank, and which does not seem to be available anymore, since a couple of reviewers discovered the negative (velocity style) post had come loose and was merely press fitted into the base of the deck. That one does have holes, but they are right at the bottom around the edge, to suit it's twin coil arrangement with the velocity style posts.
The single coil ones (as shipped with subtank and toptank) can still be bought, and do fit the protank as well. I've heard of people finding the posts on the pro version shorting on the chimney of toptanks, although I've checked mine carefully without it's cap, and it doesn't short, as long is it is screwed FULLY into the base.
I'm actually considering getting a (suitably skilled and qualified) mate to put a spot of weld on the negative post of my protank one, as I really like it and it has much more airflow than the single coil versions, which I find too loose for MTL and too tight for DL (and tightening the airflow down on the air control just seems to stifle the thing of flavour. I do hope they fix and re-release the two post design, as it's a little gem!

Back in the Day, When I used a Sub Tank. I found rebuilding the heads worked better than the RBA.
I drilled out the side juice holes a bit, put a spaced 2mm coil & organic cotton :)
I still use my Lemo2, only old tank still in rotation :)
Today there are way better choices, the Hussar the Hurricane the Kay-fun V5 all better choices :)

Recently acquired my first STM thru a trade. I'm extremely pleased with it. It came with 5 original and 2 Plus RBA heads. Unfortunately the originals had the juice ports hacked out with a Dremel so I haven't tried them.

I think the STM with V2 is a perfect match for my favorite tank the eGo ONE Mega V1. I consider both to be great mid range tanks(At my specs .65ohm, 25w, 400°). Not likely to satisfy the extremist from either end of the spectrum. But if there is any such thing as an "average" vaper both these tanks would be just what they need.

So if you have not checked out the eGo ONE series of tanks I'd suggest you add them to your list to check out. There are 5 or 6 different tanks that accept the same tiny RBA head but the differences are pretty much purely aesthetic.

They're gettin kinda hard to find but the folks in the dedicated thread are more than happy to help you track down a good deal on them. Don't waste your time with Google or Vapecrawler.

I Definitely prefer the STM v1 RBA section over any of the later versions.

With a Caveat.

And that is for the Higher VG e-Liquids I use, the e-Liquid Inlet slots needed to be made about 50% Wider and 50% Deeper. The edge of a Small Flat Jewelry File works perfectly for this.

Once the e-Liquid Slots are enlarged slight, the v1 RBA Sections Hits like a Dream.

Wish the guy I got mine from had done them like that. He cut the slots about twice that much AND cut big slots in the chamber tube as well. I Figgered they're trashed.

I've been rebuilding the subtank RBAs for my wife and I now for almost 2 years. They so far are the best tank system for our needs, reliable and so far foolproof. I have a V1 RBA but haven't used it and use the V2 with the holes, its kept up with almost every build I've set in her. Underrated is a good word for the subtanks since they are still clouded by the protank issues of the past that gave kanger a bad name.
I'm still hoarding RBA's, tanks and/or kits as I find them on the cheap. I have thought about dremmel the slots of the V1 but haven't tried it yet to decide if its worth the effort.
I've not really had much luck rebuilding the stock OCC head and have tried on occasion and I must be doing something wrong cause it just doesn't perform.
Removing clapton wraps makes setting the RBA screws much easier loosing the extra bulk wrap wire for a tighter contact and the screws don't look like they are holding on by a couple threads.

My ex father in law (cabinet maker) used to say "I cut that board twice and it was still too short!" o_O

I found I had to make the wicking holes bigger, until I drilled them out I couldn't get the right amount of cotton in there to fit just right. Also a spaced coil worked better than a contact coil.
I would also leave just a bit of extra cotton on the out side of the holes & fluff it up a bit.

The only sub tank RBA section I had good luck with was the original Crown tank.
The crown's rba section works a dream for me :)

There are 3 versions, correct? The first one with the little holes at the bottom, version 1? The next version is the one with the bigger holes on the sides, version 2? And the latest version with the smaller holes on the sides, what is that called. I use the second one made and have for almost 2 years. Not into building double coils or fancy stuff. Keeping it simple and with it found what works for me. I have two tanks that I use.
