I need to buy a kanthal wire from eBay for my subtank mini rba coil and the other occ coil. I have seen that there are different sizes starting from 0.2 to 0.4 mm. Which one should i get for the rba coil and the OCC coil?

Im new to rba and building coils so bare with me please if i do ask more question.

Also I'm buying the coil winding jig and again there are different sizes.

Which rod should i use to build the coil with?

Thanks yo all

If you're going to try to rebuild the OCC coil, you'll need to use a 3mm jig. Check out Rip Tripper's video on rebuilding that coil here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCqNcKZAZjM

All the subtanks use the same OCC coils and the hole for the wicking is 3mm. After watching his video, I find myself wanting to try rebuilding one for myself. After all, what can it hurt?

Well I've got a mini and using 24ga kanthal and organic cotton I've had wicking problems on the occ coil... Not sure why... I've tried everything I could think of...

As for the rba deck...... Amazing! I built a .5ohm vertical coil for it and loaded her with cotton and I'm firing this baby all the way up to 35 watts with no dry hits if I chain vape. I can do 1 or 2 hits at 50 watts but I will get a dry burn... But up to 35 watts no dry hits.

I'd go with 24 or 26ga kanthal for the rba and I believe the occ coil uses 26ga but I tried with more 24 and 28ga and the best success I've had it with 28... Maybe I'm not doing something right but I've followed every instructional video I've found... And after like 15-20 great hits I get dry hits from the cotton.....

If anyone knows why that'd be great but I've tried loose wicking, tight wicking, just a little bit of pressure on the coil wicking... Nothing works.

The mini is such a great tank though esp the rba section.

I've learned that, the more I play with building, the more I learn. Watching YouTube videos actually helps a lot. You're gonna mess up, you're gonna find builds that are good (or not so good) for you & your device. Your local B&M store should be helpful... I've seriously never seen anyone in a Vape store in any city who isn't. We're like a community, a family. I prefer 24g or 26g for single builds, 28g for double. Play w it & see what you like. Watch lots of videos. And NEVER apologize for asking questions! ;)
