SubTank OCCs are terrible after a few days

Is everyone else finding that the SubTank is BRILLIANT for about two days, then finding it's muted and hardly any vapour? Those OCCs are dying way too fast. Put a new OCC in, and then it's good.. For another two days. Am I doing something wrong? Been vaping/upgrading since 1.5 years ago, mostly with Kanger - never had any problems until now. Maybe they'll do 'upgraded' ones sometime, I don't know.. Might try dry-burning, though know it's pointless trying that with the upgraded dual-coils (my AeroTank Turbo lasted eight days with two dual-coils just fine..) from older setups.

Thanks.

EDIT: Yes, saw someone with this problem as well, though surely plenty others have these, right?

The only way to dry burn these coils is to remove the wicking. They are cotton and cannot be dry burned as silica wicks can.

I've had a few issues with the subtank, but vaping the 0.5 ohm heads at about 25-35 watts, even with dark sweet liquids (including bobas bounty) I am getting about a week to 10 days from each head with decent vapor and flavor performance.

I have found it varies a bit (as usual with pre-built coils), but the latest batch of new heads I got seem to last quite well.

I've found turning down the watts and restricting the airflow to the 2-hole or even the 1 hole setting will increase the flavor.

What Shady said, with the caveat that... it's cotton, and most of it is going to come down to flavorings. In my drippers and tanks that use cotton, I'm sometimes looking at 1.5 weeks or sometimes looking at 2 days. I'm looking forward to hearing what happens when the OCC coils are rewicked with rayon.

Just got mine yesterday so I can't comment on the longevity of the coils just yet. First thing I noticed is this is NOT setup to be a mouth-to-lung device, which is the way I vape. I can't restrict the airflow enough to do that- not even with the 1.2 ohm coil. Busardo mentioned that in his review. Otherwise, I love it.

I get at least a week then rinse and re-use another week then re-wick and have had 0 issues, i run 2 sub tanks and have 2 coils for each that i rotate, now when i re-wick i dry burn the coil to remove build up. Re-wicked coils i find to be better than stock. Heres a good link for re-wick

Currently vaping Zeus E-Juice (various flavours tried) ; mostly 1.2ohms ; 12 watts (Yes, I know, low. Higher seems to be burnt straight away on the SubTank) Have a new batch arriving today - going back to Mt. Baker Vapor this time. Damn, 10 days or even two weeks? Wow. I'll rebuild one, but I'd rather not have to rebuild every two days if I can avoid it. I think Zeus is thicker. By the way, I use 80PG/20VG blend, occasionally adding distilled water, though not with the SubTank yet.

I tried 10-30w in 1w increments on my Sigelei. With my ADV I settled on 24w and that's where I seem to be happiest.

It's so interesting to me how everyone has different results with vaping. One person says they love this juice or setting, the next says they hate it.

I have always gone a long time on coils/cotton before changing. Might possibly have to do with my juice being so strong that it masks coil/cotton over use.
