Hi @Ncmway2709 and welcome aboard.

What wattage are you using? How tight or loose is your cotton? what is the inside diameter of your coil? What ohms is your coil? We need that information to make a good guess at the problem.

Sorry guys, here is some more information on this build to better assist you in helping identify my problem. I figured out I have 26 gauge kanthal. The cotton isn't too tight nor too loose. Kanthal is wrapped around a 2.4mm screwdriver about 5 or 6 times and is burning at about 17-20 watts and 3.1 volts and at 0.6 ohms. Im not sure about a "hot spot" I just recently got into rebuilding my coils. If it makes a difference I'm using a max VG juice called "JÜS" "slurp".

I have the same thing. I have noticed that if I hold it with the button facing me I get a burnt taste sometimes but if I hold it sideways then it comes out fine. I think it might be a wicking issue since one of the holes is exposed. Try turning it sideways or just a different way than you normally hold it and see what happens.
Are you sure your finger isn't blocking the a FC on the back side? That tends to happen to me sometimes when in hit it like that. I tend to rest my finger on that little flat spot and end up blocking half the air flow.

Have you tried another juice? My friend got the evic vt with the ego mega tank or whatever comes with it. He poured in his juice, primed the coil, and anything over 12w on a 0.4 coil was burning and tasted however. It was some mystery juice his friend gave him. It was high vg and 3mg nic that's all we know. So anyways, I tell him to try a juice he knows he likes to make sure its not the juice. He tries the 2nd titanium coil and it does the same thing. So i grab it and dump the juice into my dripper and fill it with juice we know is good, and it was fine. Funny thing though, that juice in my dripper was also fine. So anyways, maybe it's the juice? Lol

The original RBA atomizer has tiny juice holes... really small... I can barely see how it can work much above medium power.

Not that I know for sure, but I run mine at 12-14 watts with a 0.8 coil.

If you are trying get 17-20 watts, high VG... maybe it can't keep up?

I have ordered the new design RBA section... maybe it will be better.

I wish that was the issue but I keep my finger on the top curved edge when I use it, leaving the airflow open.

I see a few things that are causing your issue. First, max VG, that is going to be an issue in a STm. Second, you are not using a device that has proper step down. So with a .6Ω coil you are actually applying 30watts to the coil, it will just be in PWM (pulse width modulation). You didn't mention which airflow you are using. Sub-ohm'ing on the STm requires the biggest airflow slot, it needs air. With max VG though, I don't think even more air will help. I wouldn't go above 70VG personally.

In order to get the best performance you need to be applying a minimum of 4.2v, which will keep it out of PWM. PWM is a fine zone to vape in, it is just misleading. If the device is needing to use it then you are vaping lower than you should be with the coil you are using.

The STm's are pretty finicky about the wicking, I have been using them since they came out (both old and new RBA) and small differences can make a pretty significant difference. Your main issue here is the max VG though, the others things are just making it worse.
