I just wanted to share with ECF that i successfully made my first small batch of ejuice and it vapes wonderfully!

Ingredients:

Menthol Crystals ($10.73 for a giant 4oz bag from WF-Medical on Ebay)

PG and VG from Ecigexpress

and Mixing Equipment (mixing bowls, bunch of 3ml and 5ml bottles, graduated cylinders) From OneStopDIY shop

Ethyl Maltol From OneStopDIY

Everclear 151 PGA from BevMo!

60ml 100mg/ml Nicotine base from xtremevaping

I also bought a ejuice nicotine testing kit to ensure that im roughly vaping 22-25mg/ml nic juice from eliquidtest kit
(however i think the community can agree that xtremevaping has thoroughly quality nic juice at precisely the levels indicated on the labels)

The PGA is actually really important. Without it i don't really think I can reliably dissolve and keep dissolved the EM and the Menthol at the levels I want per drop. I basically ended up with three 3ml bottles, one for concentrated Ethyl Maltol (EM), one for concentrated Menthol, and one for Homebrew extra flavor (secret ingredients :2cool: actually its Laphroig whiskey)

I pull exactly one Milliteter (1mL) of 100mg/ml nic juice and put it into the measuring cylinder. Then I add an additional 3.2mL of PG/VG mix. Then I syringe mix it and put it into a 5mL bottle. I drop a few drops of menthol and ethyl maltol, and secret flavoring and its great 24mg/ml sweet cool menthol with a twist. :vapor:

Sounds nice :)

Remind me, Laphroaig is a little bit to the peaty and smoky side when it comes to whiskys, right? Not a smoke/peat bomb, but close?
I'm just pondering why the combination of whisky and menthol doesn't make me want to gag just to think about it, and maybe it is the smoke/peat character that provides the bridge in my mind?

One question though, you write:

What do you mean by "syringe mix"?

Yeah, I love the smokey peaty quality of laphroig. The real magic part is after the slight bitter smokey part on the first sip, it tastes magical after the sip goes down (the aftertaste?) I like the aftertaste.

Oh and by "syringe mix" just means i suck up everything into the syringe and shoot it back in the cup, and repeat a couple of times. This way if you pour contents from a cylinder or mixing cup into a bottle, the remnants on the walls are in even distribution with the contents, instead of say, the majority of the remnants on the walls of the mixing cup being nicotine base. did i say that right? (the juice left behind on the walls dont disturb the formula)

Nice . I think you would be a lot more happy with diluting EM in PG instead of PGA . PGA adds a bad taste to juices imo . Em dissolves just as well in PG too . I mix my EM at a very high percentage as well and i was able to get 20% EM dissolved in PG without any seperation . THe morning after i made it there was a tiny bit of speration . Put it back in the microwave for 10 seconds and gave a good shake and it hasnt seperated since . At the normal 10%EM is dissolves fully in PG within seconds .

I completely Understand the excitement. I actually made my first DIY juice yesterday as well and absolutely love it. Mixed it at 16mg nic. 18% flavoring, 75/25 pg/vg, 12.6% peach, 4.5 red hot cinammon, .9% tobacco. It is so yummy. Also did a mix of banana cream and whipped cream with a touch of mint. I am loving this!

This thread's proof that you don't have to be a long-timer to make a real, active contribution to this forum. Great stuff.

I think anyone with this level of meticulous note-taking should keep posting their results here :)

Not really that meticulous, just remembered to hit the save button on the e juice me up program lol.

Yep, it makes it all worthwhile!! Sometimes I wonder if my posts really contribute anything or if they actually help new DIYers make a successful juice. These kind of successes make me realize that ALL of us have something to contribute and just talking about it keeps the forum going and enables more people to feel confident about trying DIY, thus becoming more independent. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Sure hope it works out for you or at the very least gives you ideas. Tobaccos are the toughest imo but have the greatest reward when you figure out a way to make them work for you.
Yeah I have a nice Dark Vapture I mixed that I'm vaping now.I was just putting in too much I wish you could have been here when I tried it at 15% (cam-t) I put in a carto and and almost threw up,but they're coming out good now.Lesson learned Don't try mixes that you learn onYouTube. You're right, tobacco is a different animal .

Laphroaig is about the smokiest/peatiest single malt I've ever tasted, and I prefer Islays vs. Highlands.

I don't DIY any 'bacco's, but I'd bet Laphroaig would be an interesting ingredient for those who do. Kinda pricey though! LOL
