Well, I got my Go-Go in the mail on Monday, and after a horribly long wait with a battery on the charger, during which I filled cartos, I finally got to try it out right before bed Monday night. Wow, talk about vapor production! Huge change from my little 510, and a good TH, which I was looking for. My plan is to taper off the analogs over the next week, amd I've gone from a pack and a half a day previous average to 10 analogs all day Tuesday, and 6 so far today (as of posting, it's 3 pm Wednesday, Guam time). I think I'm doing great!

Couple of things I'm already seeing...I light up an analog and it tastes terrible! It's a burnt, yucky taste, but there's a couple of specific times that I just really crave an analog, like with coffee in the morning, and after a meal. How did any of you get past this?

Also, something that happened today was I got into a verbal conflict with a coworker, and when it was done, the first thing I did was go to the smoke pit and light up, instead of vaping. Stressful situations are also a trigger for me to smoke, any suggestions for that?

Overall, I'm really happy vaping and I want to stick with it and kick the analogs. As a bonus, my husband is starting to pick it up, too! His transition might be a little slower than mine; I'll see how he did today when he gets off work.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi blondecountryangel, let me be the first to say congratulations and welcome to ECF! I'm pretty new myself, more to ECF than vaping as I bought my first (terrible!) PV last August in an attempt to, like you, gradually cut donw on the analogs and gear myself up for leaving them all together. Which didn't come until January of this year, a scant 2.5 weeks ago. My success was in part due to the gradual acclimation to the PV TH and just, well, getting used to the difference in taste and feel to a vaporized nicotine I guess. More of my success was due to an upgrade to a better cig-look-a-like which has been a vast improvement over the first one I've bought. I've also tried 3 dispos, just to get a feel for other brands and what their kits might be like. I've decided to go big in the next few months though, and get a Provari. For me, it's the right move because I could spend a nother hundred or two hundred dollars over the next few months trying a better PV and yet another better PV, but I know myself, eventually I'll just end up with the Provari anyway, so I decided to save mydself some time and money and just graduate to this one already ;)

As for your triggers, I'm not sure I can be of much help, other than to say the first few days for me were the hardest being off analogs completely, and you're not there yet, so don't get discouraged. Keep doing what you are doing, gradually work yourself down to just one or two a day, then only after a "trigger" then I would think the PV will, at some point, be satisfying enough to handle those analog craving triggers. Especially since you, like me, are already finding the analogs to be less satisfying, more disgusting, the smell etc. You'll also probably soon notice a return of more intense flavor sense, as I have! For instance, my fruit flavored gummi fiber supplements were really disappointing when I got them a few motnths ago, as they hardly tasted like candy at all! But over the past week, wow they are yummy!

Keep at it, you'll figure out what works for you, promise!

Throw away any smoking material you have, make access to cigarettes, lighters harder. If you really need that smoke, make it so you have to travel to the convenience store and buy a pack, and a lighter, so you can have 1 cigarette that you don't even think tastes good. If you're like me, you'll get lazy and you're only option is to vape really really really hard (I live in Canada, so going to the cornerstore isn't appealing). Just throw it all out, you don't need it, this isn't like regular quitting. As long as you have a good vaping experience you are satisfied with (good juice and a good supply and satisfying vapour) you don't need anything else.

Welcome to ECF:)

I got passed analogs because I didn't think about it, I was too excited about something new and novel, I gave a full pack with only 2 cigz missing to a homeless man and before I could realize that I would never get to flick another cigarette, it was already a week later. I thought to myself "i guess I've gone too, to late to turn back". It wasn't epic willpower or anything, I just got distracted by the shiny stuff :D

Hi blondecountryangel,

The Go-go was my first PV and I still carry it daily even though I now have 6 other devices and more on the way :) I like the oversize cartos and the solid 3.7volt, fairly long lasting battery. The best advice I can give you on further reducing your analog intake is quite simple: vape more!

That's not meant to be glib - I'm serious. Make it as hard as you can to smoke a cigarette. Get rid of any smokes you have and tell your friends not to give you one so they aren't readily available. Carry the Go-go (and a spare battery and cartomiser(s)) everywhere and vape on it any and every time you feel the urge to smoke.

If you feel you aren't getting enough nicotine to curb your urge to smoke, get a higher nic content juice. And vape more. Vape even when you aren't having a nic fit. The great thing about e-cigs is that you don't have to use them like a cigarette, i.e. for 5 minutes every 45 minutes ;) You can vape more regularly and not let your nicotine level drop so much you have a full blown nic fit.

When you get into a trigger situation like the scenario with your coworker, it'll be harder for you to smoke since you tossed out your smokes and you'll have the Go-go in hand and ready to go.

Best of luck and welcome to ECF.

- Tim

Congratulations on your success so far and welcome to ECF! In my first week I also faced some difficulties with trigger moments trying to transition from analogs. The real challenging one for me was that after meal smoke. I'd struggle to hold out and was afraid to overdo it with the vapeing because I was still learning my limits. Eventually I'd break down and have that smoke, horrible flavor and all. After a couple of days I was more familiar with my limits so I could vape more after meals hoping to curb the cravings. I made it a couple of days before I buckled and went out for an after dinner smoke. That's when it hit me, I wasn't getting the same satisfaction I used to. It wasn't soothing, tasted horrible and, thanks to my returning sense of smell, smelled terrible. I know they were the same cigarettes I used to enjoy so much in the past, but now they just felt like a hurtful empty promise because my PV had already given my body just about everything it was looking for. I kept that in mind and thought about it while vapeing a little harder every time a craving came along. It may not work for everyone, but remembering that disappointment has allowed me to clearly remember my last cigarette and keep it my last cigarette. You'll find the method that will work for your unique situation as long as you keep a strong determination and a solid PV by your side. Happy Vapeing!

congrats on your success so far...I was a 2 pack per day smoker (job stress) but switched completely by doing some of the things mentioned above (got rid of my cigs by not buying more, gave away/threw out my lighters, except my prize zippo which I tossed the fluid for instead).

then I carried my eGo ecig EVERYWHERE!! I also discovered CE2 clearomizers, which I pre-filled with my favorite flavors (5 flavors for 5 cartos!!), put them in a small keychain carry case (ms T's bottle buddy....2 for $5 right now will hold 8-10 xl cartos comfortably!!) so that I ALWAYS had my favorite flavors & eGo ecig ready when I "needed" them :)

I just celebrated week 8 without any tobacco!! yeah for vaping! stick with it :) hope that helps you make the transition.
