My wife is having issues with her eGo batteries.. Every time she puts a tank on a freshly charged battery, the liquids taste burnt. Its the same even if I switch her Evod out for my Protanks. Main question here, she likes the idea of moving up to a variable wattage mod like my SID, but she's turned off by the size. I'll wait for the giggles and snickers to stop

Is there a variable wattage mod out there for 14000 series batteries? She has rather small hands, and the Vamo/SID/Provari are too beefy for her.

^^ that should help with the burnt taste. Try a higher ohm coil.
But if she really wants a small VV mod, pick up a couple eGo C Twists (600, 950, and 1100 mah). The 1100 mah can usually last me a whole day and I'm a heavy vaper. Just like any eGo, you can't remove the battery itself though. Same with the iTaste MVP, which I would also recommend for a VV mod that isn't too large, but that's a box mod.

Yes! Try the L-Rider Robust! it uses a single 14500 battery (AA size), has .1 volt VV adjustable from 3 - 6 volts then round robbins back to 3.0v
Triple press the fire button fast and it gives you the ohms of your delivery device, Hold the + button to see the remaining battery charge, and hold the - button to toggle on or off.

It's a GOOD dependable device. The starter kit comes with 1 body, 2 batteries, a 2 battery charger (that's spring loaded to adjust up to 18650s as her hobby develops, and comes with 2 CE4s
Can't beat it with a stick for the size...

Some time back I considered purchasing the above L-Rider Robust. I advise that you look for reviews on You Tube or ECF before purchasing one. Most of the reviews are negative. It's my opinion (and also others) that the 14500 battery is just not powerful enough to use variable voltage and expect to get any kind of reasonable battery life. I ended up getting a Mini Provari (and extremely happy that I did). I suggest looking at mods that use an 18350 battery.

I know it's a larger diameter battery device, but the Segelei Zmax Mini uses the larger and more powerful 18350 battery.

These units sport all the same features and functions as the larger Zmax including the OLED display. These are nice small and light-weight units nicely finished in several colors. Variable voltage/wattage, atomizer/voltage meters, built-in protective circuitry.

I'm going to chime in and suggest you take her to a local vape shop, if there is one in your area, and have her actually put a SID or Vamo in her hand. I was amazed at how much smaller they are in person than they appear in pictures or videos. Also, you mentioned she was interested in the MVP2. I have the original and love it. Size of a pack of smokes, charge it maybe twice a week. At any rate, it's amazing how fast you get used to the feel of a new PV once you are using it, even if you may have thought it was a bit big at first.

Plain old eGo

What liquids/flavors are we talking about here? If these are just standard eGo batteries I doubt the battery is the source of the problem. (Unless the real problem is she just wants a new vape thingy.)

This is happening with a brand new coil? If it's brand new chances are you aren't getting the wick primed correctly. If it's happening with old coils - have you dry burned anything yet as part of the cleaning process?

I always dry burn the coil and pre-juice my wicks and flavor wicks prior to tanking them. I'm certain that its the batteries, they have both been getting too hot lately, and act odd on chargers. The connectors are fine, and completely clean also.

Again, when I pulled my protank off of my SID and put onto one of her batteries, it tasted smoked as hell, but perfectly fine on my MOD.

If your wife is OK with the size of her eGo battery she should probably like the new iTaste VV 3.0. It has VW which is easier for a beginner to use than VV. It is only 800 mAh but it has pass-through capabilities so it can be vaped while charging.

Here are a couple of pictures of a two of mine to get an idea of size. Women to whom I've showed my iTaste VV 3.0 seem to much prefer the appearance to the Twists.

Fast Tech has a very good price on the kit. The black is sold out but they have the white in stock.

Todd, who usually does more advanced gear, gave the iTaste VV 3.0 a good review.

A lot depends on how you vape and what you like...
I vape constantly all day.
I have 2 Robusts, one keeps a 1.5 ohm L-Rider Low Res 510 Atty set up for dripping, and the other keeps a 1.8 ohm stardust cleromizer on it.

I like the variable voltage on the smaller batteries, because at the low resistance I vape I can turn the voltage DOWN to hit a nice 3.5 volt sweet spot. I get all the flavor, plenty of throat hit none of the burnt, and I don't care about being a human fog machine.

24mg, 70/30 juice and on a fresh battery I can easily get 4 to 5 hours chain vaping. It takes exactly 5 seconds to swap batteries, and a small battery case with 4 extra AA size 14500 batteries barely makes a bulge in my pocket.

It's small enough to stealth vape in public, and the 14500s are cheap.

Just Different Strokes is all...
