Ever since I lost my K100, I have been wanting a replacement mechanical mod. The other day I went to a vape shope specifically to get one, but I got distracted by the Provari that they had on display and I got one. Although I have to admit that the Provari is probably the best device I have bought to date. But it better be for the price I paid. I'm just loving it!

But, that still leaves me without a mechanical mod. I have seen a few in the past that are solid brass or copper. I never really bothered to ask about them because I always had my K100 and was very happy with it. There is just something about the simplicity of a mechanical mod that I find attractive. So this time I want one that is brass head to toe, or maybe even a copper one. And I mean just solid brass or copper, nothing else on it. I think that looks really cool.

Any recommendations?

If you want a really good mechanical mod I would recommend the Nanos from MMVapors. I have one of the 18650 polished brass Nanos and really have enjoyed it. I would say it is the mechanical equivalent to your new Provari. The contacts are Rhodium over silver coated brass. The bottom button switch is controlled by six small magnets to both lock and unlock as well as to act as the spring. You can lock/unlock the switch with just a flick of a finger on the hand that you are holding the Nanos in. The switch only has to rotate 7mm to lock/unlock. This mod is very short due to the switch design.

So I did a little looking online and found these two devices. I think they look about as plain as it gets, and that's kind of what I'm looking for. They both say they are King's but one is a King II. The king has the octagon shaped top and bottom which would help it from rolling off a desk ot other flat surface, but the King II just looks cooler.
Anyone try one yet?

First, your Provari was worth it. :) They have a great reputation for a reason (and we have 4 of them between my boyfriend and I).

I have a brass King (II I think - it's a satin knurled). It's authentic and I was lucky enough to win it in a giveaway from Craft Vapery. It's a great mod. I can't speak to the clones, but have been very happy with the real deal.

Keep an eye on the classifieds. You can pick up some great authentic mods for less than retail, and I've seen some gorgeous mods pop up there.

Mixed Stingray Style Mechanical Mod

Brass Stingray mod from angelcigs... they have them in the US Warehouse so will ship out on Tuesday and you should have it in 2-7 days instead of the 2-7 week wait for slowtech.

KING II Style Mechanical Mod Brass

Brass king mod...

Origin Mechanical Mod Brass

Thanks for the info. Right now I'm kind of leaning towards the Nemisis or the King II. But damn, is it really 2-7 weeks delivery time from Fastech? I'm not in any rush to have it delivered, but if it takes 7 weeks, I might die of old age before I get my first vape.

I know the Provari was worth it. I'm using it all the time now and only use my other device when all my batteries are dead.

How is Craft Vapery. I have head of them, but have been kind of leery to buy commit to a monthly charge.

They're really great - I signed up a few months ago. Great products and excellent customer service. You could always give them a shot for a month and see how it goes. :) There's a thread for them here on ECF if you want to see what some other people think too!

(Addit: Found the thread! May boxes should be shipping this week if you want to peek in later and see what everyone got this month.)

Slowtech can take a VERY long time. 1 point is to NEVER order batteries from them for 2 reasons. 1) you don't know if they are counterfeit. 2) Customs can confiscate the item and you will never be notified. I myself have a "mixed" Nemesis. The one with the brass rings around it and stainless steel tubes/button. It is a great mod by HCigar and it hits hard with my stillare clone. I've ordered from AngelCigs and they ship very very fast. I ordered the stingray clone so tomorrow I should be able to let you know how it works.

So I'm not in the mood to wait for 7 weeks to get something from China, so I just got this.
KING II Style Mechanical Mod Brass
Hopefully it will get here within a week. It was $24.69 with a coupon and free shipping with a tracking number. Unbelievably cheap if you ask me. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

But ... is this?
Black Stingray 26650 Mechanical Mod
I have never heard of a 26650 mod before. I looked up some batteries and they are anywhere from 3K to 5K mah. That's gotta last about a week between charging. Ok, maybe not a week, but at least a couple days or more.

Ordered this one too last night. Have tracking # and hopefully they get it to USPS tomorrow. My only other order with them arrived within 3 days. Any guesses on who the mfg is?

I have no idea who the manufacturer is, but the description says its solid brass with copper contacts. So it should work as good as any other mechanical out there. At least I hope it does.

26650 mods are becoming more and more popular. The only downside is there are not many RDA/RBA's that fit nicely on top of them. They are coming out with some 28mm RBA's and RDA's now. I believe the TOBH has been made 28 mm... The kayfun lite plus is being made into a 28mm and there is a 28mm Fogger v4. The batteries do last a very very long time but can be a pain in the ... to fit in a charger as well. Don't even think they will fit inside of a Nitecore i2 charger.

Also, you might want to look into if there is a magnetic switch for the king mod.

Edit: FatDaddyVapes sells the King v2 magnetic switch upgrade for $8.99... now its not necessary but it is a bit better than stock springs in most devices.
