So I was thinking about dabbling into the rda realm, but I'm a little lost. What RDAs do you suggest that are best for someone first starting? I would like to make my own coils too. I'd like something that's a little simple and something that's a little simple on my wallet. Also, would my 150w sigelei be able to handle a RDA? I'm not too worried about cloud production, but flavor would be the only thing I'm a bit concerned about. I do have access to all the tools and some kanthal and nicrome wires as well as an OHM reader.

You can power any RDA with 20 watts....10 watts if you want. The build dictates power...not the atty.

I'm a huge fan of the Stumpy clone. $10 or less and ridiculously easy to build on. The only reasons I would say it's easier than the Velocity are you can start out with single coil to get your feet wet (i know you CAN on the Velocity, I just don't know why you would) and the coil positioning doesn't matter nearly as much in such a small chamber.

I run 0.5 ohm in a mech mod with a tugboat clone. Thats 30-35w on a fresh battery. My cloud production beats any pen and the high surface area builds I do like twisted wire and quad 30ga makes good flavor IMO. The only flavor setup Ive tried that was better is a super high end tank with ceramic heating elements.

I got into RDAs because the atomizers for the pen I have are crazy over priced. $5 in wire and cotton will last me months and months.

I used my first RDA (Igo-L) on a ego-style battery with a 1.5 ohm coil.

I have a Velocity mini clone and several Stumpys and both would be a good choice to start. Stumpy will likely have a bit better flavor with it's smaller chamber, but either are fine - and simple to build.

Besides that, I saw some Igo attys on clearance for a buck each if you are truly looking for a cheap starter:

iGO-L RDA - ElectronicStix.Com

But these will be more challenging to build and have a very restrictive air flow - best suited for mouth-to-lung vaping.

Haze Mini. Along with the Derringer are the only RDAs I use on a regular basis.
