Good morning ECF!

I need your help. It's my dear Mother's birthday soon. She's 46 and she vapes using a sleek little ego style pen.

Myself, I'm a high wattage RTA/RDA kinda guy and would call myself somewhat experienced in those fields. However I'm totally out of the loop when it comes to starter kits, pre made coils, clearos and the like these days!

So I need your help [emoji4]

I'd like to upgrade my Mum's hardware. She's tried my vapes before and loves the flavour I get from my builds, but doesn't necessarily want the big plumes of warm vapour I love so much.

I'd ideally like to find a mod/tank combo that:

-Looks good, sleek and fairly discreet.

-Has premade coil heads that are readily available which deliver great flavour (in about the 10-30w range.)

-A tank that doesn't leak and is easy to fill.

-VV/VW, not too bothered about temp control but wouldn't turn it down either.

Not too concerned about price as long as there is value!

Thanks in advance guys!

Thanks Izan, that T-18 does indeed look sleek, but I'm not sure how I feel about silica wicks, sorry I didn't specify.

Willie, I know right?! The choice is almost overwhelming. I've had the Subtank mini before and I did enjoy it, may be a a good shout.

How are the Kanger mods? (Subox, Subvod etc. ) are they reliable?

As for the iPVs, I'm a little hesitant as I had a mini 2 which developed some severe chip issues after a couple of months!

Now I'm confused...how are silica wicks involved?
ETA: OIC... From HERE
"Optimized at 14 Watts with 1.5Ω replaceable coils, the ENDURA delivers a perfect vaping experience every time. The ENDURA T18 Pyrex and Stainless 2.5ml Tank is top-fill for quick and clean refills and the Japanese organic cotton wicking material delivers maximum flavors from your favorite eliquids."

Joyetech Ego one VT is also an option in a similar form factor.

Is this unit for you or your mother?

cheers

Correct me if I'm wrong but the tank in the kit pictured has silica wicks?

This is for my mother, but I wouldn't buy her something if I wouldn't vape it myself!

The ego one does look very nice indeed, hmm food for thought...

Edit: On closer inspection perhaps it's just some kind of plastic wrapper around the coil head? In the second picture.

I have the subvod with toptank nano kit. Comes with an extra glass for the tank, can sub-ohm down to 0.4, very sleek, and I love it. Not vv/vw though. I have noticed though I need to use about 70/30 vg/pg or higher vg in it for it to work properly, but other people with it say they don't have that problem? The tank is also able to fill either top or bottom. I have it in white.

They look very nice indeed, how's the battery life?

Kanger Subox Mini kit is the way to go for a first time setup. What I recommend to any first time vapor whether good with electronics or not. It's simple, works well, comes with rba head, plenty of choices for pre built heads. Can be set down with less chance of tipping than a tube mod. It's really hard to beat for a first time setup. Just buy a decent battery.

Battery life is okay but not great. 1300 mah. I go through probably about 5-10 ml of liquid in it a day, maybe more, at 0.5 ohm, and it doesn't last all day for me, but someone vaping a bit less could probably get a full day out of it. Personally I need to usually charge it mid-day then before bed. It does have a lot of safety features and puts out a steady 3.7 volts until it dies. It does also support passthrough vaping although I don't do it because I personally don't trust that too much on any device. It has nicely adjustable airflow and puts out a bit of a warmer vapor, with pretty good flavor. It's really simple to use and very user-friendly. My only complaint with mine is it pops and spits with thinner liquids, at about 50/50. Has also happened to me with 60/40. Also removing the top of the tank for top-fill did initially require some good grippy gloves, but now removes easily. I believe the 510 pin is spring loaded, also.
I think it looks even nicer in person.

I ordered from here:
Kangertech SUBVOD Starter Kit $34.95
$29. At that price you could get her a backup, too.

She's 46 and she vapes using a sleek little ego style pen.

With that said, if I were you...I'd let HER pick what upgrade set-up she wants. Being female myself, if she's happy with her sleek little eGo style pen - she may not even want a box mod, nor some of the bigger cylinder set-ups. Many women don't. They like smaller and more "petite" vapes.

Maybe take her to a vape shop so she can actually see and feel some you're thinking she may like. Don't actually buy it there (most likely much less $ online), and then order it for her. Chances are that if she's been happy with her start up, waiting a few days for delivery shouldn't be a problem. It's a win-win for both of you.

Ok Mom's into flavor and obviously not amongst the Cloud Chasing crowd; so how about a Aspire Mini Tank with 1.6ohm heads along with a Sigelei Mini or iStick 20. The Aspire will deliver great taste and vaped to satisfy that smoking feeling and either one of the Mods will be able to support it, and yet small along with a different size to be able to reach feel while in her purse.
Your a good Son, keep it up and best wishes for both of your journeys

I have no reservations suggesting the JoyeTech eVic VTC mini.
Has VW, modes for Ni, Ti, SS and raw power. Vapes up to 60W out of the box, upgrade the firmware and it goes to 75W.
The eGo One Mega tank that comes with is it very good and will suit your mom, I believe.
Whichever you choose, to both of you...
Vape On!

My wife (late 50s) went several years with an ego and Kanger T2. She resisted anything bigger and absolutely refused anything other than her top fill clearos. Of course she had pink and purple varieties. She finally succumbed to the need for longer battery life and moved to evic mini and istick box devices...but she still uses her T2s and vapes at 7-8 watts.
