I started with the igo L. Single coil. Eaaaasy to learn on and a lot you can build on it. My advice is get one off ebay and don't go with stock airholes. Some places will let you choose what size airhole you want and drill it complementary. Get the one that is two sizes bigger. Sorry if that's confusing :D

The RSST is a fantastic beginner's RBA. Very easy to set up, and they work very well. Bonus, they won't break the bank when you buy 'em.

They even have a Pyrex version, so you don't have to worry about tank cracker e-liquids. And even though it's a Genny, I like it better running it in pseudo-dripper mode, with a hunk of silica/Ekowool/cotton stuffed in the wick hole.

My first RDA was a Scar, but I think it would have been easier for me if I'd started with the Igo-L. I still use my Scar, but I think the Igo-L is just about perfect for a beginner RDA.

After the igo-L i moved on to a patriot clone (sorry for anyone that doesn't like clones) the patriot (and its clone) are a three post RDA. You can build a single or dual coil on it. So i also suggest that if you want to be able to do a bit of everything :)

Best beginner RDA = IGO-L

Best overall RBA = Kayfun/Russian

There are a couple of RBAs that outperform the Kayfun, but they are not as easy to build on, nor are they as cheap. There are RBAs that are easy as the Kayfun to build on, but they don't perform as well. Overall, the Kayfun/Russian is the best all around RBA on the market right now.

And if you check Ebay the prices of high quality Kayfun clones are extremely reasonable. Hcigar and EHpro clones for $35-$40.
