I have just started making my own juice. Previously I have been a loyal user of Dekang strong mint at 6 mg. I picked my self up flavor art "peppermint " and Jungle "mint". I have tried mixing a 70/30 pg/vg and a 80/20. I have experimented with flavoring from 5% to 13%. I am using a nicotine PG base 100mg/ml, at 6 mg. The flavor seems ok but the liquid doesn't seem to burn from the tank as nicely or have a satisfying hit. I have tried letting the liquid steep but that has not seemed to help. I would really like something like the Dekang strong mint, but if I could just get a satisfying hit I'd could live with that.

Any suggestions on what to do? I was contemplating doing a 100 Pg mix to see if that would help, but everything I have seen about the Dekang says 80-20.

I don't know what you're spending on the Dekank liquid or what you spend to make your own, but have you ever visited Mt. Baker Vapor's website? They have a HUGE line of liquids, tons of them are mint or menthol. You can adjust your PG/VG blend, your nic level and even request extra flavor. And the best part? A 30ml bottle is usually under $15. If you can find a flavor of theirs that you like, it could be a good compromise. Also, I know nothing about making liquids, so I probably shouldn't even be on here, but I thought a different view point might be helpful.

I vape at 6mg as well and my mixes don't have any th at all. I've been thinking about picking up some flash to give it a try. Also, the throat hit nic from Vapers Tek might be worth trying as well (I think they're out right now though)

I mixed a batch today using 100 pg, 10% nic 15% flavor. Does seem a bit better.
I've thought about adding some menthol but I'm not sure how to do it. Do you use a crystal and dissolve it , or buy a menthol flavor?

Also the 2 flavor a I have don't quite replicate that Dekang strong mint , don't know if I'll ever be able to replicate it.

I would like to keep the nic flavor down, so I don't want to keep mixing a batches at 10 percent. The Dekang was always fine at 6 as well as mint flavors that I have tried from local vendors

I'd say just buy the flavor and try it. If you find that you use a lot of it then buying the crystals and dissolving them might save some money.

Glad to hear that you're gaining on it. :vapor:

Yea I know that would be an easy option, but I'm honestly tired of spending the money for it. When I realized how much cheaper it is for DIy I decided to go that route. I've had homemade liquid from a local shop and that has always been fine. Just not sure where I'm going wrong .

Just curious, where are you buying your Dekang from? Dekang is pretty dern cheap.

I think menthol or koolada might well be your missing link. You can get a small bottle (premixed) of each for probably < 2 bucks each at nearly any DIY vendor. I'd maybe start at 3 drops of each in a 10 mL and go from there (you can always add more but you can't take it back out!)

The suggestion for the stronger throat hit nic is a good one too.

Good for you for trying to work it out! You'll get it. There are many good reasons to DIY other than price.

I usually get it from lite cig, I found them to be the cheapest with shipping. I did find another site that sold 30 ml bottles for 11 bucks which was as cheap as I've seen but the site was hugely unreliable in terms of shipping

Hoosierecigs has good prices on Dekang 50 mL (about $11 or so), but I don't think they have 6 mg/mL. Of course, there is always FT. I began buying my China liquids from China and haven't looked back since.

That's what I'm thinking, need some menthol. I guess i just like the Dekang strong mint and nothing quite compares. But that's the same reason I wanted to start DIY, it's in the back of my mind about how trustworthy is Chinese juice?

Not knocking ANY vendor..but if you aren't bottling it up yourself, how trustworthy is ANY vendor juice?

I completely believe there are good, honest vendors out there, and would highly recommend several to someone who doesn't DIY, but I do like the idea of making my own. If I picked a gnat out of it before I vaped it, at least I know about it beforehand :D

Besides that..this little DIY skill we all have here is going to come in handy some day. Not a bad idea to figure out how to make something you are really happy with. Let me know how the menthol/koolada works out. My mom is a big fan of strong menthol stuff, and likes the combination of both of those best.
