Ask him how deep they wish to get into vaping. You can save possibly hundreds of dollars if he gets what he wants to begin with, instead of gradually stepping it up.
If he's the type of person that goes all gung ho in everything he does (or at least in all his hobbies) then he may wish to start off with a his ultimate mod and a couple nice tanks, or he may wish to start off with some kind of drip system.
Personally, I went the wrong route, I started with BLU e-cigs and then when I found that not satisfactory I stepped it up to multiple ego twist batteries (got enough of them that I thought there would be enough of them to make it through a full day), and a couple Protank 2 mini tanks (one for each flavor that I thought I'd be vaping). Then I found that wasn't fully satisfying either, and finally ended up with an MVP2, and a couple of each of these tanks: Nautilus tanks, AeroTank Megas, Protank 2 etc. Now I'm quite satisfied with my equipment. I no longer feel the need or desire to buy anymore hardware, and I'm pretty well set on tanks now too. But had I decided how far I wanted to go at the beginning, I could have avoided buying
Blu starter kit $50
Fin starter kit (2 of them) $25 each ($50 total)
Multiple Ego twist style batteries at $35 each
Multiple Protank 2 mini's (one for each flavor I wanted to vape) at about $25 to $35 each.
Yup, you can save some good cash if you decide up front just how far you wish to get into vaping and get the equipment you want right from the beginning instead of experimenting with different equipment that may or may not satisfy your friend..
