Sup guys,
So I just ordered 2 Sony VTC5's from sun vapers and have payed for first class fast delivery as I am in the UK. I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of when they might come (purchased today) and also what the packaging will be like because my bro is looking to build down to .1 so I got these for him as a gift and don't really want him seeing the package, if it clearly saying where it's from and what it is. Thanks in advance guys

Hmm, not sure. But Sun Vapers is a solid vendor- I'd just reach out to them and get a tracking number if it hasn't been provided. I'm sure they'll help you figure it out. I've found that most vendors respond pretty quickly over email about orders. Or you could even call them.
Might need to do that, they gave me an order number in my email but nothing about a tracking number, will have to give them a call or something, hopefully my brother doesn't find the batteries, or even better if they are discreetly packaged. Thanks for the confirmation ;)

He's using the phantom mod by wotofo and the mutation x v4 RDA.
Here's some information for your brother. For safety reasons he should NOT be building that low on a mechanical mod.

When considering how low you can build you need to give yourself some headroom. I try to never exceed 50% of the CDR (continuous discharge rating) of a fully charged battery (4.2v). So with a 20A battery (like the Sony VTC5), that would be 10A. This Ohm's Law Calculator tells me that a 0.4Ω build is as low as I would want to use.

The reason that I place a 50% limit is because as a battery ages the mAh of the battery degrades, as the mAh degrades so does the batteries c rating (amp limit). So down the road, a 20A battery may only be a 10A battery."

With a 30A battery (like the LG HB6), 0.28Ω is the lowest I would build.

I highly recommend he spend some time with @Baditude & @Mooch (two of our resident battery/safety experts) and visit their blogs.

Here are links to some of Mooch's blogs:
Hand several links to Baditude's Blog - Table of Contents: The blogs that address battery safety, Ohm's Law, CDR (continuous discharge rating/Amps) and how they all work together are detailed below:

I thought VTV5's were 30a continuous, so leaving yourself 50% headroom would take you down to 20a continuous. Maybe I am wrong?

No, they are 20A CDR. @Mooch has verified by bench testing these (and many other batteries). See the links I posted above.

Thank you, once the batteries come will show him this thread because I'm sure it will be very useful to him. And I can understand why you would need some headroom however I thought VTV5's were 30a continuous, so leaving yourself 50% headroom would take you down to 20a continuous. Maybe I am wrong?
VTC3 and VTC4 will take 30 amp, and 50% of 30 is not 20, it's 15. Look at Mooch's tests, he has a table showing his test results and ratings of batteries.

That's interesting, I never knew, but now looking at that post you can see... Do you think he will get away with .3 ohm build using the VTC5's. I didn't know this information before I bought them
