I've just had a Google and found this from
Treatment of tobacco dependence: integrating recent progress into practice
Bernard Le Foll, MD PhD and Tony P. George, MD
From the Translational Addiction Research Laboratory (Le Foll) and Addiction Psychiatry (George), Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ont.
Determinants of tobacco use
"Although nicotine acts like a typical drug of abuse, the risk of abuse of nicotine replacement therapy is low in naive patients.
Therefore, nicotine appears to be addictive in humans only through the form of tobacco. The absence of dependence to pure nicotine in naive patients suggests that the speed of
nicotine delivery to the brain through tobacco smoke may be ideal to initiate dependence properties."
So Nicotine appears to be addictive in Humans only through the form of Tobacco. Interesting. Then as far as i can see it's Cigarettes which should be withdrawn from the Market.
Of course those two Doctors are probably telling Lies.
