It's my opinion that vaping does not stain cloth or windows like cigarette smoke does. We're all familiar with that yellow/brownish film that is accumulative with smoking.

Some flavors of e-liquid leave a scent within a room. Some people find this to be pleasant, and others do not.

My brother can not stand me vaping inside the house. He has bad allergies and sinus trouble, and insists that the vapor causes it to act up. Therefore, I limit my vaping to my bedroom downstairs with my door always closed, or I go outside to vape. His bedroom is upstairs, and the only time he is downstairs is when he is in the kitchen.

The only coating left on things I find is from the VG. I will cumulatively collect on glass and such surfaces and needs to be cleaned off. It is especially prevalent in smaller closed spaces like on a car windshield, especially winter months. Other than that, scents will accumulate in fibers of clothes and such, but not as off smelling as cigarettes did, you can alleviate that by vaping on unflavored liquids.

On the flip side of that, I vape in the house with a high PG juice, usually a vanilla tobacco or Ry4 right now, and no complaints from anyone about odor or irritation. I can even vape near my daughter, who has asthma, when she visits. She will come right by me and she is completely fine with it. She even bought me a tank for Father's Day being so happy I stopped smoking. I would never smoke a cigarette near her before, and she would never try to stand next to me.

But again, with a high PG juice and low wattage tootling I do (~10-15W) there isn't much of a cloud to speak of. If I were subohming a high VG juice, it might be quite different.

LOL.
I've been vaping in my car for 4 years.
No smell, no stains.
OK, so the windshield gets misty a bit quicker but nano particles of PG/VG are better than brown tar stains. I vape at work too and the smell only lingers for a minute or so. I agreed to the rules on vaping (nobody vapes in the offices) and so far not one vaper (there are at least 6 I know of) has been accused of vaping indoors, but they do, in private.
Vape on. No worries. :)

We have not noticed any appreciable build up on anything except my computer screen. Guess where I usually vape. Just a quick cleanup, and all is well again.

Some scents seem to linger a bit longer than others. When the house that we are renting was up for sale a few years ago, I had a cinnamon roll flavor that I noticed left a slightly lingering scent - it lasted just a bit longer than other flavors that I usually vape. My computer is set up in the dining room, next to the kitchen. When we had potential buyers scheduled to view the house, I made sure to vape that cinnamon roll flavor. It left a very pleasant scent of fresh baked cinnamon rolls that drifted into the kitchen. Most of the time, though, scents do not stay around for more than a minute or two, if that.
