Just wanted to say how happy I am with this Super T set up, a Work Horse 18650 and a matching Strata atomizer. I can run it as a mechanical mod with a Sony 30 amp CDR battery or an 18490 18 amp with the kick turned to max power, a single 0.8-1.0 ohm coil of nine turns of 26 gauge Kanthal wire and Japanese cotton wick. It certainly provides enough smoke to make me cough on 6mg fluid. Nice air flow - the right draw. I have a friend who is a mechanical engineer in the defense industry and he was impressed with the machine work that went into the cap of the mod and especially the Strata atomizer. The things I like best are the relatively large juice well and the fantastic quality machining and industrial design - and no death's heads, monsters or star wars faces, just a sleek appearance, like a laboratory instrument. I think the mod is a bargain, high quality Rhodium-plated contacts, precise machining, everything for $69.00. The Strata is a little expensive, but goes well with the mod.

I do wish they would change the Strata contact posts to a simple set up with holes and phillips-head screws like my Patriot.

Anyway, this is a great "grown up" mod and atty (not knocking the other great equipment out there), compact, well-made and purpose built.

A fellow Strata enthusiast!

I have three- due to the differing diameters of some Super T mods.

This atty got a bad rap from a certain reviewer who managed to short the center post when he screwed it on.

He also didn't understand the difference between pushed and pulled airflow, but I disgress...

The Strata gives me the best taste of any dripper I own.

This atty performs best without classic coils.

Its better to run a fence style coils, as shown in the Super T forum.

Some Strata porn :)

This build is with classic coils, though.

You know, I've tried and tried to build fence style coils but i just can't figure out how to make them the right size, big enough but not touching the inside of the atty. What gauge wire do you use and how does one build it?

What resistance do you like to vape at?

I will tell you the gauges and loops to use when I know, but in the meantime I will go over the method.

1) Build a coil in the same manner that you normally would.

2) if you are wanting a resistance that result in more than 4 coils, you will put the coil on a flat hard surface for stability. Then , single loop by loop flatten the coil out. It will be easiest to bend the coils in an alternating fashion up/down until they are all done, then press them in the same direction.

3) Four or less coils, flatten out the whole coil in the same direction. Then stretch it until there is a tiny space between each coil, which when done will look like a series of loops. I then wrap it around a big sharpie for leverage, and twist them up then over. This gives the coil that sine wave look.

4) Remember, you need to remove one negative post, so that its a continuos loop encircling the atty. Pay attention to the cotton, as it is whats providing support to the coil.

I wish my camera lens on this phone wasnt kaput.

Anyways, I like the Strata at .35 to .45, with just enough twist on the cap so that you cam barely cover the o ring.

And oh yah- I use a 3/32 drill bit regardless of gauge

I too thought the Strata got a bad wrap!! I have no problems building single coils in the strata. I have a 1.3 ohm micro coil in it now using 28g kanthal with organic cotton. Vapes just fine. The one thing with the strata out of all the RDAs I own is that it never leaks!! The quality of this atomizer is top notch. Compare it to another RDA and just look at the differences. This atty will last a lifetime.
