Supplier/Manf. Participation in Social Groups

Should Suppliers/Manufactures be allowed to join Social Groups?

  • Yes, the should be allowed.

  • No, Those should remain as they are.

  • It doesn't matter either way to me.

I have suggested that Suppliers and Manufacturers be given permission to participate in our Social Groups here on the forums. At the present time they do not have the ability to join or even see the groups.

So please cast your vote for whether or not you would be ok with allowing them to be included, or whether or not you think they should remain excluded. Do keep in mind that the Social Groups are user moderated. So that means that should there be a supplier that steps out of line and attempts to use the groups for some nefarious purpose the group creator/owner would be able to handle that situation and keep our environment fun for all.

Thanks for participating!

yes they absolutely should be involved in their local and regional groups.......Groups would gain a lot more insight and steam by including all levels of the e'cig process. The same way we'd all love more info and insight from manufacturers.

Just think if we had more manufacturer specific literature and insight into the quality control at manufacturing level, when we tried to present information to the powers that be.

This was part of the reason for my request, but also for cases such as the group I created. Which is simply a group of people who are fans of the Silver Bullet. A product manufactured by one of the suppliers here on this forum. They absolutely belong in that group, and we would all like for them to be, but unfortunately its an all or not sort of deal.

Good call, Uptown. We (VIP - vaping in Phoenix) just had a meeting Sunday where I was informed about the suppliers not being able to be a part of our social group. The only way they knew about it was via email or phone calls. Of course we are happy to have our local suppliers at our meetings! Being self moderated, as you mentioned, should keep our local "nefarious" suppliers at bay... But if they do act up, I'm sure we could handle it "Old Testament" style at our next meeting! :p

Yea that's really what I'm getting at. I created a group that is just people who like the new mod "Silver Bullet" by AltSmoke, so we DEFINITELY want Rob and Chad (the creators) to be in there with us.

And there are many many local style groups like yours that would benefit I'm sure from some supplier participation.

I understand the initial hesitation, and a lot of the safeguards that are in place. This is just one that I think is unnecessary and probably doing more harm than good. Now we just need to be able to show SJ that we feel this way so he can feel sound in deciding to change it.
