hey all. I've always had an interest in rebuilding but never really got into it. i went to a new vaspeshop in my area today (which turned out to be awesome!!!) and they had a huge case of RDAs/RBAs. after looking at all the neat little gizmos i could buy i decided that i definitely want to start rebuilding soon. if I'm gonna do it i would prefer an rda over an rba. so i just wanted to ask the vets for a list of everything i need to get started on the right track. obviously i need an rda (I'm thinking a patriot) and obviously i need kanthal and stuff but idk exactly what to buy. what gauge should i get, how much should i get to last me say 10-20 builds. what kind of material should i use for wick and where can i get that? I'm sorry if there is already threads like this or if this isn't in the proper section of the forum. thanks in advance for any help! can't wait to share my first build with you guys!!!

not sure if you have a mod already so ill start with that and remember these are my recommendations- mech mod(nemesis, stingray) or vv/vw mod (vamo/provari), aw imr batteries (18350/18650 rtdvapor.com), nitecore charger (i4), tobh atty clone or tank style like kayfun (ebay), ohm reader, volt meter (smok omnitester since it does both), kanthal (ebay, and 28 or 30 gauge), silica (2mm from pbdragon.com), something to wrap the wick and coil around (sewing needle for normal coils, micro screwdriver for micro coils), toe nail clippers/tweezers (cutting wire, wick, and adjusting coil), and a damn good juice! that should be just about everything, hope i didnt leave anything out but those are pretty much the essentials! also cotton could replace silica but silica is easier when first starting out imo

I would get both 28 and 30 ga kanthal to see what you like. You can buy 100ft for $5 so I wouldn't worry about limiting yourself to a few builds worth. Cotton balls make good wicking material and are easy to get. You may also want to try peaches n cream yarn (my current wick) a multi-meter is a must for checking resistance. For a mold you could use a drill bit, jewelers screw driver, pretty much anything the right diameter. All in all you should be able to get everything you need for about $35 and that's figuring the DMM at 20

I'm with him ^^^. I use both 28 and 30, depending on what I'm going for. I'll add 2 things to what everyone's said so far - a butane torch, and I'd start with something cheaper than a patriot to see if you actually enjoy it first. You can get an Igo-W for $11 at 101vape.com. It's easy to build on, tastes great, and if you decide you don't like dripping, you haven't lost $70. It's also one of the most commonly recommended drippers on the boards here for new rebuilders.

I started out on the igo-l dripper which is so easy to rebuild. I have recently started using 28 gauge kanthal and cotton and have been so utterly pleased. The Vision Eternity is a very good dripper also which holds 35 or so drops and gives you a great vape. The ultimate dripper would have to be a rm2 atomizer on top of a reo grand mod. 6 ml of juice there for ya when ya want it. I have been vaping for over a year and did really think it could get much better but I was wrong. I love the reo. Good luck to ya and happy dripping. :)
