I know I'm setting myself up for a "that's what she said" joke, but all I can think is that's so huge. I can also see why your wife's 1st reaction was what it was.

Paraflier and Safira - yes, it is a little on the massive side, but we just love the sound. They do carry smaller models, too. I also recently got a small Definitive Technology ProSub 800 that performs pretty well for its size - found a good deal on it on ebay. And I'll give a thumbs-up to Definitive Technology, too - when I got my sub, a corner of the box was crushed a little, and one of the little plastic legs was broken. So I contacted them to see about ordering a new leg, and they sent me one, free of charge.
