So, I saw a combo'ed SVD 2.0 and Atlantis on ebay, the seller's rating was high and the price was right without being too right. I took the plunge It's on the way and should arrive on Friday. I have AW IMR 18350's and 18650's, I have a couple Sony VTC5 18650's and Demonfire 18350's on the way because of recommendations from the guys at the local B&M. Will those be quality enough batteries to run this mod? Should I be looking for something else/better?

Is there any big worries about stepping into prebuilt sub-ohms? I have dipped my toe into sub-ohms on my Nemesis, but I haven't gone lower than .7. At the B&M today I got to play with a few mods pushing out some really thick rich vapor. One of my friends really hyped up the Atlantis, so it got me looking. I really haven't played with much power, and and am a little nervous about the whole thing. That's one reason the Atlantis looked so appealing, less room for user error.

I know I just use you guys to calm my fears, but you've been awesome so far. Cheers!

To explain, 20 watts and a 0.6 ohm coil is only 3.4v which is lower then needed. 30 watts is more like a mech at 4.2v. Finally 35 is around 4.5. This tank just runs better at 30 plus watts. 3.4 is just under powering the coil. Under powering the coil can lead to flooding, gurgling, liquid in the mouth, a build up of unvaped juices, which leads to lower coil life, less vapor production. Honestly your better off running a nautilus on that device. But it comes down to what you want. You're just barely scratching the surface of what this tank is capable of and it is recommended to be run between 20-30 watts, and there is a huge difference in cloud production between 20 and 30, along with taste. I wrote a test post about it. Some people run it at a low wattage but honestly it's a waste of juice and coils when you get the same thing out of a Nautilus and mini.

As long as you are using 20A batteries in your SVD or mech mod you will be safe using the Atlantis and it's 0.5ohm coils. However, at 20watts you may be unpowered. You will not be able to use 18350 batteries (with your Atlantis) as most of these batteries are either 6A or 10A. AW & Sony are quality batteries. The only problem with the Sony is that there are a lot of counterfeit batteries out there. Demonfire I've never heard of.

If you are relatively new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. With a mech mod you are 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

So I'm still looking for a mod to run this bad boy tank then? Darn. I figured the combo would indicate they would work well together. Looks like January will be in the market for a 50w mod. Oh well I'll have a new toy to run my Nautilus on and maybe I can use the Atlantis on my Nemesis... I'm just sill learning the full capabilities of what mechs can put out. I get that it's limited by the batteries, but still not quite sure where to find the battery output. Good news is I'll be able to hit the B&M more this month as my work schedule meshes more with their hours this time around.

If you run the Atlantis on your Nemesis (with a 20A battery) you will be safe. All 18xxx batteries are 4.2v fully charged.

I love using my Naultilus on an eLeaf iStick. But you could use your Nautilus on your SVD. The Nautilus (with the new BVC's) can take up to about 17 watts without getting a "burnt taste"

Here's Matt (from Suck My Mod) vaping a mini Nautilus on an rDNA at 17 watts.

You can try the Atlantis on the SVD I'm just letting you know what's up. But it'll run on the Nem fine. You just have to have good batteries. The sony vtc4's (18650) are great. There's also good alternatives like the 25R's as well. Just make you get them from RTD Vapor, Orbtronics, or another reputable authentic battery supplier. For mechs I'd buy a few, number them and swap them in and out.

I run my Atlantis on my IPV2S at 35-40Watts, thing vapes like a champ. Mucho clouds.

Well I have 5 good AW IMR's and I hope my Sony's are authentic I did buy them from amazon, but the dealer is highly rated and was recommended by one of the guys of the local B&M when he said they were currently out of stock. I'm not gonna lie the battery seems to be the most confusing part of mechs at this point. It's getting hard to tell what's worth spending good money on. You folks are always a great help. Thanks as always.
