Been a while since I've last been here, but anyway here goes:

I finally decided to do an upgrade from my Ego-T CE4v2 to a SVD 2.0 dna, no complaints, it seems very well-built and gives a good vape.

I remember seeing a chart once though on safe wattage when compared to volt and resistance and I looked it up again, but I'm wondering if there are any differences in safe wattage when the mod controls for wattage (rather than volt) and what thresholds are considered safe?

For stats.: The mod says it's at 2.0 ohm and I've set it at 12 watt and when vaping on it it shows 5.0v, but the chart I've seen says 12w is way too high for 5.0v/2 ohm, can anyone offer some insights?

Thanks in advance.

With those numbers you are only pushing 2.45 amps and 4.9 volts according to ohms law so I'm not sure what the problem is. If you don't like to do the math of Ohms law their is a free app you can get called ohms law and it does the math for you. You will see your unit is fine. No problems. Not sure what chart you were seeing that's why it's best just to work ohms law math or use the app. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help, so I assume I should only be worried if any of the numbers (when calculating with Ohm's law) diverges a lot?

@realsis: There is no actual problem, it vapes and tastes fine at those numbers, just me being paranoid about damaging my new mod. :)

Also, for reference, this is the chart I'm talking about: Understanding Variable Voltage / Variable Wattage E-cigs (at the bottom of the page)

This old, basic Ohm's law chart is primarily for use by those with VV devices and very basic atomizers... for you, it's pretty much obsolete. You can run literally, hundreds of watts, if the atomizer has the proper balance of wire gauge and length, resistance and parallel coil count.

For a better understanding of the relationships I've mentioned above... even though you're not a rebuilder, click on my first two hyperlinks below. The first leads you to the "Steam Engine" modeling program... the second to my SE user guide.
