What kind of batteries did you use, like brands, types and sizes? I've just ordered a SVD yesterday, like a backup device for my Vamo, and so far you are the first owner with a bad experience of SVD, so you got me thinking...And from which (china based?) site did you buy it, if it's not a secret, or violation of some forum rules?

Itaste svd shutting off and flashing 888 when taking a puff. Anyone else have this problem?

That's an error code that I haven't seen on either of mine or heard of on the SVD before. Send it back.

Anytime you buy something in its first production run, there is a fair risk of weird issues.

Good luck.

This was the second mod I got after 1 month of just using Ego style batteries. The first was a "lava tube" called the Cylon. It came with NCM batteries and 0 instruction. I had a lot of random error codes, most amounted to "what is this clearomizer? Get it off me!" So I got a SVD. I used my first mods batteries, the NCM because when I looked up battery types it seemed like the safest. Then I read through the handy insert that said I should be stacking 2 IMR high drain 18350 batteries stacked to "get the full range of volt/wats available and proper power needed to use the device" quote abbreviated from user manual. The first thing this did was set off every alarm in my head. I have had the "horrors" of stacked batteries from every info source I could find. The second thing I noticed, was that every other page in the user guide stated I purchased the unit without batteries, and any failure caused by batteries was on my own head.

So, I'd say this sounds like a unit fault. Return it before a bigger issue starts. Because the second you turn a SVD on, you have already taken on some of the blame for any problem!
