 aha! Couldn't type here before! Hilarious!
Anyway, I am very obviously new here! So hi everyone!
I have read so many reviews and options, it's a bit much really! I almost bought the 2nd Starter kit (comes with two batteries and a wall charger. about 45$), but then I found more reviews and this site! I love the kind explanations given and really appreciate those types of responses. But I'm still not sure if this is the best choice for me. I really don't wanna waste a bunch of money on a trial and error effort. I have been smoking Camel filters for over 20 years and I'd really like to quit for the final time! I've done it before with patches and such, but I am sure the right e-cig will really help me. I would like simple to start. So, I would love any suggestions, and I thank you ahead of time!

Hello and welcome to ECF. For what its worth I started with the SI volt kit. Their customer service and product has been great. You'll want to start off with at least 2 batteries preferably 3. The PCC comes in handy also. I also recommend getting at least 1 of every carto sampler they have. Some of thef lavors I thought that I would love I didn't care for at all and the one I thought I would hate I enjoyed quite a bit. I'm saving up right now for a few 1000mah ego twists and the necessary accesories. I don't regret my SI purchase even though I'm saving to upgrade. Its nice to be able to get everything you need to start from 1 vendor without worrying that you got incompatible hardware. Besides even if you uprade a month or 3 down the road you can still use the Volt as a backup.

Whatever you do, use your kits, try different juices and keep vaping. As you progress, you will find that you will need to find your 'niche' in vaping. From learning what juice strength/flavor works for you to methods of juice delivery, the options are seemingly endless. Have fun, read, ask lots of questions and lose the stinkies.

25+ years of 1+ppd (and endless attempts to quit on other methods) ended for me within a few days of finding ecigs.

Best of luck!

Welcome to the world of vaping. Smokeless Image is an excellent company to start with. They'll help you get off of the cigarettes. SI's stuff is all compatible with one another so that makes it easy to try different devices. Not everyone likes the same thing, so trying a variety of different things will help you to eventually find what works best for you.

In case you weren't aware, Smokeless Image has their own forum here: Smokeless Image You can post a pic of you using your Volt and get a free battery there. A lot of helpful people there who can help you with their experience with the same equipment that you will have. The company representative, Imagine, stops by often to answer questions, too.

Most of us started out with the cig-alike (Volts) batteries. To achieve longer battery time and larger juice carriers, many move on to the X2 batteries (ego sized) to gain anywhere from 6-13 hours of battery time, and devices like the clearomizers, T-3, etc for more juice carrying capacity.

Most important thing for you is to get a relatively high nicotine strength in your juices; and find a juice flavor or two that you like enough to order more of. It won't be considered a crime if you continue to have a cigarette or two for the first few days, over a few days they will start to taste bad and you won't likely want any more.

Drink plenty of water, vaping dehydrates you. It's not necessary to inhale into the lungs, the nicotine in vapor is mostly absorbed in the throat and mouth, so slow inhales into the mouth and slow exhales thru the nose and mouth. Much of the flavor of e-juice will be "tasted" thru your nose, if you know what I mean, so make sure to exhale some vapor thru it.

Your vaping is dependent upon a supply of juice and charged batteries, so have plenty of juice on hand and have backup batteries charged and ready. The bigger the battery, generally, the better the vape, so sooner or later you'll want to expand to the X2 batteries.

Hi - welcome! I am currently using Smokeless Image products and other than device envy I'm really happy with them. Except for the juice. I'm all about ordering juice these days LOL
So the one piece of advice I have, and I think it's a good one, is if you do decide to go with the volt, go ahead and get one of the x2s as well. It's 20 bucks and worth every penny. You might not be comfortable with it at first but even if you never take it out of the house it's GREAT to use at home because of the longer battery life and bigger size. (harder to lose it in the couch cushions!) It plugs directly into a USB port to charge and you can actually use it while it's charging (they call that a pass-through). Plus all your Volt accessories will work on it so there's nothing else you have to buy.
There's nearly always a coupon around too, so find a code before you order :)

Hi! Since I'm so new I haven't figured out how to have my replies to a specific person placed below their response! It just seems to go below all of them. So, I'll just respond to each of you here. :)
Firstly Mister Grim: I thank-you for the great flavor info, and the reference to 1000mah ego twists gives me more to investigate!
Secondly evilferret: Your reference to "automatics" gives me more ideas for questions and I am grateful for that! Thirdly Huffelpuff: Your comment about the "seemingly endless options" is right on point! For someone without a bunch of money to spend on a great deal of trial and error, I absolutely have to do my research and ask many questions! Knowing that you smoked a pod for 25+ years and finally quit with the vapor e-ciggs, is very inspiring! Thank-you! And last but not least! Baditude: You really helped me with your wonderfully long, informative and inspiring response! I am so thankful you took the time to do that for me! Someone ought to be paying you for your time! Maybe some of the folks here feel like giving back, so to say! I loved learning that the SI stuff maybe compatible with other companies products! And that there is a SI forum on this site, not to mention the great tip for getting a free battery! The X2 battery has been brought up in several posts I've read, and so I will be looking into that for sure! Since I have a bunch of health issues, I really appreciated the dehydration info. And the throat and mouth absorbency, as well as the nasal exhalation/taste info was awesome! Did I already say you rock? Because you do!! Thanks again, to all of you! I now know some more questions to ask, and know more of what I need to research!
I'll be ordering and vaping soon! Wooohooo! ;)

I agree with everything everyone above me has posted. I too smoked Camels but mine were the Turkish silvers I went to the mall and on stroke of luck said no thank you to Brilliant smoke. I found Smokeless Image and I have been happy ever since. I Have numerous of friends I know tried other brands of e-ciggs and we all have said the same thing. When you start E-cigs the first thing you want is something like a real ciggerette this will help you get off the Stinky's and onto the Ecigs. Smokeless Image's 555 or Cowboy juices/carto's have that real ciggerette taste to it. I'd start with a kit but with whatever kit you get I recommend the longer battery the 78mm They last longer than the shorter battery on run time. You might want to start with a sample pack of theres they have a sample pack called strong and because of that I found my personal favorites to be RY4 and Dessert Joe. Then you can go from there But Smokless image has a great product. Amazing Customer service and as LisaL said you can find promo codes

I know this one works I use it all the time YOURVOLT00

I've heard this is another one that works SIVOLT50 but I'm holding out buying online for 2 weeks When I can buy in person at Vapercon2012 so I can't attest to that one working

Your reference to "automatics" gives me more ideas for questions and I am grateful for that!

"Automatics" are e-cigs where the act of drawing air induces the battery to heat up and produce vapor. A lot of automatics have 8-second shutoff limits, so if you want a heavier/longer draw, you may want to go with a manual.

"Manuals" have buttons on the battery. You hold them down to activate the heating element, and release it to stop. I recently started vaping myself, but as a heavy smoker I wanted the ability to have a deep draw-time, so I went with manuals. It's not as fiddly as it sounds, and if you are looking for more control, I recommend these. The only downside is accidental activation if you have them in a pocket or purse.

I bought one of each, auto and manual and still haven't figured out which I like best (still new you know) - the auto is good for when you're doing something else, like driving! I like the manual when I'm feeling especially hungry for a cigarette though. It's a more interactive experience I guess, and gives you something else to concentrate on while you're filling your face with that sweet sweet nicotine vapor LOL

Also- the x2s and I believe most of the ego type batteries do have a hard shut off. You press the button a certain number of times and it won't accidentally activate. To restart you just repeat the process. Easy peasy.

I got my fiance the Volt starter kit. She has now been using it for 2 days. She said after the first hour or so she wasn't craving a cigarette. She smoked a cigarette with her coworker last night to see how it would feel. She got dizzy and said she thinks this is going to work. She preferred the manual battery to the auto. As I got one of each in the kit. She also preferred the grape cartomizer to the menthol burst. She smoked menthols so I figured that made sense to get some options because who knows what she would prefer until she tried. I tried it too, though I am a nonsmoker.

I already had a lavatube shipping as well as a just in case she likes it, or maybe I will like it too. Trying to also see if this would cut out some of my bad habits. So far she is really happy with the Volt and I have a feeling the simplicity of it all is what will work. I now have on order the CE3 cartomizer pack and another battery from SI along with liquid from vape dudes and see how that goes.

I am willing to spend anything to get her to cut back or stop and yet the cheaper starter kit might have been the gateway device that is going to work. I just opened the lavatube and am playing around with it, and I could see it being more of a pain for her to take to work and use. It is sort of in your face big compared to the Volt. She works at a hospital to add to why smaller is better.
