hey switched i am wondering what the proper charger is rated at for an aw imr 14500
mine says
input 100-240v ac 50/60hz
output 4.2 dc 300mah

im a bit worried that its not charging properly and i have seen chargers with higher mah ratings , does this effect charge capacity or just speed of charge ?
i feel like im not getting very long out of my new batteries they come off at 4.2 i believe
thanks in advance
mike

the mah rating just about current flow or speed of charging, as long as you don't exceed the max mah rating for charging your batteries you should be fine. The charge ratings of IMR batteries are usually .5c - 1c meaning for a 14500 imr battery ( 600mah) 300mah-600mah. 300mah been the normal charging rate and 600mah should be the fast charging rate.

The one thing you should be watching for is the voltage rating of the charger. Since your charger is at 4.2v and IMR have a max V of 4.2v, your using the correct charger. Its not exceeding the max voltage and max charging amp of the battery.

Hope that helps mike

Woody,

As long as you keep the mAh rating below the overall mAh rating of the battery you will be fine. e.g a 420mAh charger for the 650mAh eGo.

Yup seems 100% normal to me. I get about the same performance and life with the 14500's on my 3.7v box mod and have to swap them out every 6 hours.
I've been hovering on pulling the plug on a 18490 woodvil as the 18490's should last me all day as its a 1100mah battery.

What I've noticed for my mod battery's is whatever the mah rating is, that's how long I will use it (if going through normal vaping habits) before swapping it out as the performance has dropped.

On my woodvil I can go all day (18650 @ 1600mah)
Mini is about 6 hours (14500 @ 600mah)
Woodvil @ 6v for about 5-6 hours (stacked LiFePO4 @ 500mah)
