Hi peeps, I have a question that's really troubling me at this point.

I am about to start making my own juices, but I have found that while I prefer to buy everything from the same brand, most of the recipes I find that I might like, come from one or two different brands.

Like, I am looking forward to make something similar like kringle's curse, not a clone, but close to it, and some say to buy from west flavors and some others from Perfumers apprentice.

Let's take peppermint for example, would you guys think that flavor will change too much if I use one or the other?

And, in your opinion, what would be my best bet FLAVOR WISE to choose one or two brands at this point? I really prefer to pay extra for a good flavor, that have a bunch I hate.

Take for example, I bought thug juice from MBV and it still have a perfume smell I cannot get over it, if it reaches a 5 week steeping and still has this tones to it, I will end up trashing it. and since MBV get's its flavors from West Flavors, I don't feel too confident buying from them, I have seen a few posts that some of their flavors are nice, while some others are very perfumey (which grosses me out)

So, please, some brands suggestions based on flavor will be deeeeeply appreciated. Thanks!

I'm getting started in DIY, and being of a somewhat scientific bent I ordered each of my flavors in at least two different brands to compare. There is a lot of difference among the brands, and it isn't just that one brand is better or worse. Some brands do some flavors better and some flavors worse.

Out of curiosity, why would you think it is better to just order one brand of everything? Also, you may get more responses if you post this in the DIY sub-forum.

Dif brands may excel in dif flavors or you just prefer one version better then another. Its really impossible to say for certain whose flavors are best. Maybe when you order say Apple. You may like one over another because it tastes more like a natural apple while someone else may like another because its more of a candy apple taste. Maybe another entirely because its more or a green apple or red apple etc.

I know its been overstated numerous times in the past, but its true. Taste is subjective. What one person thinks is the best may be in someone else's opinion the worst or just sub par.

I understand the want to try to keep to a single brand tho. You maybe don't want to order from to many places when you can just order everything from one shop, but its best try try dif flavors from dif companies so see which you like best or even which may work better in a certain recipe your tinkering with. You way wind up wanting multiples of the "same" flavor from multiple companies. Something as simple as changing 1 flavor in a recipe to a different brand may hardly charge the taste of the final product at all, but it can also drastically alter it just as well.
