Swollen glands from DIY

I have been vaping for 5 years or so. For these 5 years I have vaped nothing but a particular China made eliquid from a company called LeCig. The flavor is called Reds. They claim it is 90%PG 10%VG at 18mg nic. I have loved this eliquid and have never had any problems with it.

Recently I decided to go DIY for cost reasons, and a concern that it is made in China. I purchased everything I needed and went with a flavor that was comparable to the Reds that I was used to, 100mg 50/50 Nic diluted to 18mg and PG and VG base. However, I immediately realized after half a day of vaping that mixing it 90/10 18mg and 6%flavor, that my throat began to feel swollen and my glands were swelling in my neck. I felt sick and miserable.

So I tried many different combinations. More VG. No PG, lower nic strengths, with and without flavoring, steeping longer etc. I also tried different PG and VG manufactures. It seems that the lower the PG the better, but eventually I get swollen glands after a while. Once I go back to my original China made 90/10 juice, all is fine and symptoms go away.

I am so frustrated that I can not figure this out.
Can anyone help me out as to why it appears that I have a PG allergy, unless its a pre-made China 90/10 juice.

It could very well be the flavor. I love the "cola" flavors still (coca-cola, pepsi...) But as soon as I started DIY I noticed that they would wreck my throat even at 0mg nic! It was like vaping pure cinnamon.

If you are noticing a physical growth/change in your glands, I (and I'm sure MANY others here) will strongly suggest you see a medical professional. It could just be a coincidence, or it could be a bad allergy to an ingredient in the flavoring. Seeing that you mentioned the symptoms have subsided, I would try another flavoring when you can, but otherwise stick to the liquid that works until this is sorted out

So let me get this straight, you mixed DIY 90vg/10pg ? Have you tried a 50pg/50vg mix ?

I would say it is the flavoring. I have similar results from most TFA and INW flavorings. FA and CAP seem to mostly treat me better.

I only found a couple of commercial ejuices I could vape before I gave up on them and started my DIY. I do try and discard several flavorings but am buiilding up a base of those I can tolerate.

You could try a $2 sample of NN, just to eliminate the nic causing an issue.

I use MFS nic with no issues.

flavorings mostly from TFA, and INW cause me issues. CAP and FA not so many of those cause me issues. The only Hangsen flavoring I have tried is Desert Ship Tobacco and it is fine.

You could try a $2 sample of NN, just to eliminate the nic causing an issue.
