Hey all,

I'm a devoted lurker and have learned all about DIY and PVs from you guys - but almost never chimed in. For the past two weeks or so - I've had horribly swollen glands. I can't figure out what (if anything) this has to do with vaping. It's just seemed to come up all of a sudden. I have a terribly sore neck too.

I have tried a few different ejuices over the last little while and I"m not sure - but Alien Visions Gorilla juice might be the culprit - but I'm not sure. I suspect it could be a PG allergy, but I think AV GJ is a entirely VG juice. I've also recently ordered some 36mg 100% VG from RTS. I'm going to try vaping unflavored PG for a couple days and then switch to unflavored VG and see if either case resolves. Hopefully I don't have an odd flavor allergy.

Anyone else have odd problems like this?

Cheers,
-Yard

i had the same issue when I first started vaping. I quit smoking the same day and after about the fifth or sixth day my glands were swollen and my neck was hurting. It almost felt like I had strep throat. I am not sure what made it go away as I changed two things at that time. I started drinking even more water than I had before and I lowered my nic level because I noticed the 2.4 was too high for me. With in two to three days I felt a lot better. I do not know if I was experiencing issues from withdrawals of the analogs or if it was dehydration or too much nic.
I just vaped through it and decided that I would give it time to go away and if it did not then I would look into allergies. I hope it clears up for you soon. It can be frustrating to feel bad when you are trying so hard to feel better.

Wow. Ok so I won't do that again.

Tried vaping 100% VG and I'm pretty damn sure I uncovered a latent VG allergy. I feel like ....

So, I get unflavored VG (36mg) and cut it with 50% no-nic unflavored VG (USP) - vape it for about 4 hours at my usual rate (maybe 0.5ml total). Immediate heavyness in my chest, plus a sketchy 'hot faced' feeling and discomfort. Figured it was just nicotine OD or something (though at 18mg i can't see why) so I left it and didn't vape any over night.

I wake up the next day feeling even worse, nasty cough, fuzzy feeling, basically gross all around. Feels like I managed to contract a flu bug or something. Wtf? Glands are as swollen as ever. Ugh. Anyway, I mixed up a batch of 100% PG now and cut it with 25% distilled water and some vodka. Anything to keep me off the analogs. I'll see how quickly this feeling goes away.

Maybe it's the flu - or maybe not.

As an FYI this isn't cig withdrawal, as I've been analog free for over 3 months now due to ecigs.

It should be pointed out that diluting 36mg liquid 50% does not bring it down to 18mg. It brings it down to about 24mg. To bring it down to 18mg, you'd have to dilute it 100%.

Oops yeah. What I meant was 50% 36mg and 50% no-nic liquid. i.e. 2ml of 36mg and 2ml of straight PG, vodka, water, whatever.

I'm a little confused why you would cut (thin) the PG with water and vodka but you are able to use the VG products without thinning them.

Hey Az,

I have 0 nic VG floating around, but no 0 nic PG - so I had to dilute the PG to reduce the nic levels.. I don't vape 36mg, usually around 14-18mg.

As an update to everyone - I'm still in extremely rough shape - still not sure if it's an allergy or the flu.. if it is an allergy, I would have assumed the reaction would have subsided after stopping the VG.. so I'm thinking I *somehow* managed to catch the flu the same day I started vaping 100% VG. Weakness, fatigue, soreness .. I've got it all. Happily the nasty cough I had is gone now. Anyway - I'm going to try to get out to a doctor today - once I have the energy to hop in the car.

Doubtful this is due to vaping at all, unless I'm having a reaction to both PG and VG.. who knows.

Cheers,

Feeling much better today - still vaping. Doc is doing some blood work, but he's pretty damn sure it's not due to vaping. He was pretty clear that an allergy wouldn't cause the symptoms I was having and is leaning more towards a nasty virus that just took awhile to go nuclear.

I went back to 80/20 mix PG/VG, which seems to work the best for me.

Cheers all!
