So I've been filling my cartos with the syringe method, and I was wondering, do I need to dispose of these after I use them? I mean Im not using the medicinally but the vids I watch say that you should dispose of them but I feel like thats just fear mongering to make you buy more.

EDIT: also, any tips / tricks on syringe filling for a noob?

I rinse out my syringes and reuse them over and over. I used some clear spray paint on the numbers to keep them from rubbing off (since I use them to measure DIY stuff). I use blunt end needles and reuse those as well, just rinse by squirting water through them. That's just what I do though. If there's a good reason to use only once I will read with interest.

I'm in the medical field and I can tell you that you don't have to through away the syringes. I suggest that you only use blunt tipped needles. Make sure if you have children they are kept where they cant get to them. vaping doesn't need to be sterile, but I is always good to keep everything as clean as possible. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I am new, too, but definitely re-use the needles.

I mainly use the blunt tip on the tanks and rinse thoroughly. I did try a fine sharp needle for a mega-carto but blew the needle right off since the Boba's was so thick. :p

I love the clear coat on the increment measurements. Borrowing this idea for sure!

Dispose of them? Who makes these videos? As my dad used to say, some people can complicate an empty room. Good grief. I love how people try to make this all scientific and overly complicated. Did they say to wear lab coats and those little paper booties on your feet too?

My syringes are sharp tipped (I get them free with the 15 carto deals from crystal clear vaping [ecf5off - coupon code]). I dont have any kids or any safety concerns. But I love this way, wayy better than condom and drop filling, fast, quick, and clean.

Oh me too. It's easier and sorta fun.

:D Right! I mean, maybe if you were Count Vapula, vaping blood or something. But it's just flavoring, PG, VG, and nicotine. As long as you are not then using the syringes to prepare food for your family or pets I can't see any reason to dispose of them until they no longer work.

i cant buy blunt tip from the pharmacy..had to filed down the sharp ones..the syringe i use until it becomes difficult to inject smoothly into my tank cartridge..only than i use a new one for filling..last for ages & dont throw it away as i use that to wash down all my cartridge tanks by flushing, daily maintenance..i am a fan of tank system..so easy & fail proof way to avoid leakage using the tank system...dont take cap off to refill, inject into the tank after it been pierced..and clicked onto the atomizer properly..happy vaping

Good one~!

Couldn't resist.

--------------------------

I think where the "Single Use" and "must be disposed of" comes from is that this type of syringe, Polypropylene, can't be sterilized very effectively.

So if you were going to use it for actual injections you wouldn't want to use it twice or on two different people.

As mentioned by another member, e-Liquids and syringes used to fill cartos does not necessarily need to be sterile. So washing a filling syringe out in hot water and then drying it would be fine.

They must not know how we go MacGyver on our pv equipment. Do we really throw anything away?

I hear you...

I have used syringes until the lines wore off. The I cut the barrel of to make a tank mod. And used the plunger to push the CE2 cup seals in place.

About the only thing I haven't used for 2 or 3 different things is the wrapper that it came in. But I saved it just in case.
