This may be old news, so forgive me if it is, I don't get out much. I was reading that Kanger has made it official, the pro tank and evod coils are now the same even if the box is different ( white & black I think). I wanna say that the evod was the same as the T3 s anyway wasn't it? So now all are the same? I just pick the link connected to the clearo I buy to get extras sent with. For example I buy 3 evod with 10 replacements or 4 T3 s' and 15 coils. I keep them in the box that's checked for it's corresponding tank but they sure do look the same. I just never had 'em (evod & T3 s) at the same time. Just wondering if all 3 clearomizers used the same replacements.

eVod/Protank coils fit eVods, Protanks(all versions) and many others, but not the T3S or MT3S. T3S coils fit them all.

thank you for this.....i have been totally confused about what coil or base fit what clearo. i have some of each and hate having to worry if i am ordering the right stuff (which i have before :( ) it makes my vapid little head spin sometime! 58417df439a1b8d2b5188cce05d2b1.gif

The Protank heads also fit the sigelei puritank but I'm having very tight draw issues, I have to use a air restrictor to have good draw. I'm having no problems with the PT heads in my T3's and visa versa. I can't say about the evods or MT3 cause I don't own either atty.

I saw someone else say they used Protank coils in a T3S. There must be some variation in the T3S tanks, unless Kanger has changed the more recent eVod/Protank coils. My eVod coils won't fit in my T3S.

OK... This is the factual and measured with a micrometer truth.

EVOD and Protank coil head base plates are 10mm in diameter. T3S coil head base plates are 9mm. "The Wizard" and I ran some fairly extensive testing and this is what we found:

Unless you have a really loose, sloppily machined T3S or T3 clearo tank (and Bill the Wizard had some of these, but he could not be sure they weren't Kanger knock-offs) a PT/EVOD head is physically not going to fit.
You can use a (9mm) T3S coil head in a EVOD or PT... but, it may, I say may leak because the 9mm plate may not provide adequate plate/o-ring compression in the EVOD or PT base.

My recommendation? Keep buying PT/EVOD coil heads for your PT/EVOD... and T3S coil heads for your T3S and T3 conversions... unless you've experimented with your clearos and have determined that T3S coil heads will seal adequately in your PT/EVODs.

At some time in the future, Kanger may choose to "commonize" products and make everything 9mm or 10mm... but for now, there are both.

Cheers,
SOF

thanks, mr. flux. clear as mud. if i read your post a dozen or so times, i might get it. (remember, i am vapid) :p
Oh... I think you get it kelli. ;-)

It's pretty straight forward. the round disc under the wick is the "base plate" for lack of a better term. The diameters are different between T3S and PT/EVOD... by just one millimeter.

Now... one millimeter isn't much, but it can be enough to prevent you from putting a 10mm base plate into a hole intended for a 9mm base plate. Kanger manufacturing quality is pretty good. All the ones I've measured are within 0.02-3mm of nominal diameter.

The copies and knock-offs... that's another story. Who knows what some folks might have, and how accurate a reproduction they might be?

Clear as mud? :)

indeed....

but thanks for the valiant attempt. :)

OK. I read in some medical magazine that "spatial visualization/discrimination ability", or the ability to see and measure dimension and translate that into a visual model is more common and developed in men than in women... basically one of those "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" kinda things.
I think there might be some stereotype gender discrimination going on there... but hey, I ain't exactly no rocket surgeon. :p

oh i fully admit that my spatial visualization doohickey thingy is totally not working. all i would like you to tell me is what i should order to keep my T3's going when the coil base units i now buy go extinct. then i will be ok. and keep is simple please. ;)
You're using a T3... not a T3S? That's easy... buy a T3S base and T3S coil heads and you can "convert" your T3. The links I'm providing are just quick Google look ups... where you get your gear is your call.

Yeppers.
That's exactly what I did - "update" my T3 Minis (same parts) with the new base, and replaceable coils.
And actually, the AltSmoke price is a little better - I'll go there next time...

Yeppers... I love to say "yeppers"... and even the occasional yowza! thrown in for good measure. ;-)

After reading you guys I checked, shurr enuff the t3 s' I got from ivape are looser than those I bought locally. Can't complain about the function tho, used each through at least 1 box of coils no leaks, runs, or errors so far. Thanks all! Likes all around. (my android doesn't seem to get some forum functions.)
