Anyone experiencing leaking may have it a bit underwicked. I don't have the v2, but had the v1, and the only time it leaked was due to an o ring that needed replaced. I have 30+ tanks sitting here and none are leaking :). Its a misconception that tanks leak and we just have to put up with it. They don't.
I do not consider 2 drops a week a real leak. And I do not store them upright, they are always in horizontal position when not in use. But of course I'd like to have nothing at all leaking.

Why are you laying them down? Don't your mods get scuffs? Of course my tube mechs would be rolling onto the floor on a pretty regular basis. Everytime my crazy neighbor blew up dynamite I would be losing a lot of glass tanks. Mine are only laying down part time, usually when I'm driving or have one on the couch with me.

My Taifun used to seep a bit out of the AFC till I decided to do the rolled or tucked wicks, now they dont...

My GS2 seeped a bit till I used a bit longer tails and bit higher and learned to place the mesh straws snug on the cotton but not tight.

I also lay my mods on their side. I was used to doing that from my carto tank days. I then went on to my Odysseus's and no leaks either, except a lot of condensation in the top cap of my mods.

I do get small scuffs but most of my devices are brushed so minute scuffs are not noticeable. With the couple of polished things I try to be careful, but I use my stuff lovingly, but not obsessively.
