Sort of a lazy Sunday around the house.
The kids are out shopping with mom and I decided to clean out some of my old vape stash to make room and just organize. After cleaning out some of the more recent stuff, I ran across a box with all of my original gear and liquids- a 510 kit from AquaVapor, some blank cartos and dekang menthol tobacco liquid. I have always been a "just in case" kind of guy so it didn't surprise me that it was all still stashed away, even though I had forgotten all about it.
I decided for giggles to charge the batts and fill a couple of cartos, and on that first vape- oh man did it take me back. The taste, the feel- it was all just like I remembered it and I had to smile.
I rummaged some more and found little bits of liquid from different times in my journey, and I sit here now dripping them one by one and remembering the times in my life of which they were a part. Some good, some not so much, but all a part of my evolution. I got to the flavor I vaped when my daughter was born almost a year ago and it brought tears to my eyes to remember what that day was like and my son telling me that I smelled like apples, so our daughter was forever going to think that her dad was a big apple and not a person...... LOL.
I have since moved to mechs, RBAs and DIY, but today made me realize just how far I have come in the last 14 months and how much my tastes and preferences have changed as well. It also made me realize that the little things along the way that meant nothing more to me than a flavor or device at the time played a big part in my life and all have a memory connected- good, bad or indifferent.
I remember getting my starter kit in the mail, logging on to ECF and thinking how crazy people were with their giant mods and tanks- saying "this is all I will ever need". I love to read posts like that to this day.
And don't think I forgot about all of you as well- the members of ECF who have been my support, advisors, comrades and parental figures (thanks for the occasional slap, mods). I couldn't have made it this far without all of the amazing resources this forum has to offer, and I look forward to many more happy years of this lifestyle we all share.
My trip down nostalgia lane was a great one, and rather than tossing those old bottles and gear I am going to put them away in a special box for days like today.
