tank batteries

ok,so i bought a generic set up.
tank,battery and charger.
press 5 times after charge to activate batt.
after that what does 5 blinks mean?,recharge?
i'm having a problem with a genaric 501 style set up
where the battery seams to be charging,but wont trip the charger light.

i do not think it is necessary to deactivate the batt before you charge it. Maybe you have a faulty charger. Did you just use it for the first time? maybe take it back to place of purchase for exchange?

i bought another genaric batt for back up,seems to work fine.

The five press:
The flashing light after the 5 press is common. It is just showing that you unlocked it, or locked it. I got a faulty charger with my first set up, the light wasn't turning from green to red when I screwed it into the charger. Both of my different battery units flash the light after locking it.

i'll see what happens after i recharge the other batt.
note:the charger will trip to green when a batt is unplugged.
so i suspect the batt in question.

If you have the charger in a wal wart, try it on the computer, and vise a versa. Some can be finicky like that.

just had to leave the batts on the charger longer.
first charge on these generics takes longer than the name brand i guess.
