Welcome! I would suggest the Smok Tech tank with the locking ring on the bottom, I believe it is the 5 ml. It can be set up with a 1.5/1.8 ohm or higher carto. Buy a syringe to fill the tank and prime the carto. Vapor Kings has a good video on their site in the tank section on how to fill and use. It wont be the same tank but it will be a smaller tank that is also good. Their prices are competative on the larger tanks but the smaller ones with the locking rings imo a bit spendy although my wife uses them and loves them. She has ne punching blank carts but the prepunched work as well. No matter what size you get make sure it has a locking ring as the older ones without have a messy learning curve. GL

I don't recommend dual coil carts for eGo batteries. You need 4.5 volts to get them to shine. They work better in the bigger mods that use the replaceable, rechargable batteries. You could use them, but they would drain your eGo battery very fast. The single coils will give you just as much vapor and flavor as dual coils would, but without all the extra battery usage.

For tanks for an ego you can go three different directions:

Clearomizers are mini tanks that hold a small amount of e-liquid. They use silica string to wic the juice to the heating coil. They are often recommended for beginners because they are easy to fill. Just unscrew the mouthpiece and add juice, taking care not to get any into the center air hole. They can be inconsistant and sometimes can leak. Some people feel that they provide a harsh vape, others love them. Most of these are disposable and last anywhere between 2-4 weeks. There are some flavors like cinnamon and citrus flavors that can crack or melt the clear plastic tubing.

Mini Vivi Nova tanks are literally larger versions of a clearomizer. They also are easy to fill; just unscrew the top and add juice, and easy to clean. Some people, such as myself, believe that they mute many flavors. But, they are still a popular choice among beginners and intermediate vapors alike. These contain the same plastic that some flavors can crack or melt.

I prefer cartotanks. These use a steel tube filled with batting which holds the eliquid for the heating coil inside of the cartomizer. The cartomizer needs holes in it tube in order for the juice in the tank to enter the cartomizer. Each time you take a vape, the suction pulls more liquid from the tank into the cartomizer. These have a slightly higher learning curve than the above two suggestions, but in my opinion provide the best flavor option. The frosted plastic that this tank uses is polypropylene, and is safe to use with the cinnamon and citrus flavors.

works for him, not a strong enough hit for me. theres a video on the page on how to fill it. this is the site for my local b&m store, they are very helpful and knowledgable. just make sure you get an extremely low resistance carto or you will get literally nothing off it

Dual coil cartomizers' design is intended to produce more vapor. Two coils - twice the vapor production, right? In reality, I've not found that to be true.

A dual coil 1.5 ohm cartomizer in reality is the same as a 3.0 ohm single coil because of the way ohm's law works.

I switched from dual coils originally to single coils because in my experience the single coils provided a smoother vape and were less demanding upon battery life. The singles make just as much vapor. As I said before, to get the full benefit of dual coils, you need to power them with over 4.5 volts of power. A standard eGo battery only puts out 3.5 volts or less of power, and even the Spinner and Twist eGo's that are variable voltage will have a hard time providing that over time. Dual coils are best suited for more powerful batteries found in larger PV's that use the replaceable batteries.

To get more vapor from a single coil cartomizer in a fixed voltage eGo, use a low resistance cartomizer (1.5 - 1.9 ohm) and use an e-liquid with a higher percentage of VG than PG ratio.

I agree with Bad on not recommending dual coil on an eGo battery, unless you've got a twist/vv it is hard to get enough power to really enjoy the vape. I was using the smok dual coil tank on my ego and was super disappointed with it. Personally I don't like the flavor I get with clearos so I was dripping until I found the sub tank from mom and pop vapor shop paired with a boge 2.0 carto. They are only like $12 for the tank and a carto. I've been using them for several months and have not had a single issue with leaking or vapor production.

I recommended using a higher ratio of VG to PG to gain more vapor production, as VG makes more vapor when compared to PG. However there's a tradeoff here. VG is a thicker e-liquid than PG, so it may be slower to wick in a cartomizer and result in a burnt taste if the filler gets too dry when the heating coils fire. You can offset this some by doing what we call "primer puffs" or "powerless pulls", by sucking on the drip tip without power to allow the suction to pull more liquid from the tank into the cartomizer. From experience you'll learn how often you will need to do this.

Once the filler material becomes burnt to the point that you are getting that burnt taste, the cartomizer is ruined. You can never get rid of that taste once its there and will need to replace the carto.

When i went into my local there was a lady in line in front of me that had a CE4 on an EGO and had burnt her wick, the guy asked how she vaped and she stated she just puffed and puffed back to back, like on a true analog. The guy said yeah these tanks need time to rewick themselves, and suggested a dual coil carto since that has two coils to pull more fluid to keep her vaping the way she wants.

So from seeing this made me not even think of the dual coil for that purpose. I don't vape that much so i would think it makes it harder to vape normally which sounds like what other posters on here have said turned them away from them.

i like the mini vivi for my ego. with out the twist the 1.8 ohm works really good, girl has the twist and moved to a 2.4 ohm wick. As long as theres fliud it keeps up nicely.

That salesman was full of BS. The heating coils only heat the juice, they don't have anything to do with "pulling more liquid". After hearing something like that I would have walked out the door, as he obviously is only interested in making his next sale and not in helping his customers.

Its interesting that dual coil puts out only as much vapor as single. Theoretically this shouldnt be true. I wonder about the physics of this.

One thing i can think of is standard cartos have a limit on how much juice they can hold at one time and how fast they pull. So that caps off the amount of vapor possibly produced in one hit.
