Hi everyone, I am new to vaping and it has been great. I went quickly from an ego with a 900 battery and got a VAMO 2 mod with a pro tank. My issue is I am burning and replacing coils about every 2 days. After about my 6 th tank fill I get liquid in my mouth and a lot of gurgling. I don't really want to re build coils. So my question is. Is there a tank that I can get that has coils that won't need to be replaced every two days? What is the best tank set up for what I have. I don't if it cost a bit extra. I just want something that will last! Thank you all in advance.

VOLTAGE TYPE:
Voltage to the atomising device can be provided in two ways from the mod.
RMS and AVG. It is recommended that users use the RMS (Root Mean Square) mode as this will be a more reliable and accurate method of delivering consistently accurate voltage.
Hold either the OR button for 10 seconds to toggle between modes.
RMS mode = N02 displayed on screen
AVG mode = N01 displayed on screen
Whatever version of the mod you may have the voltage method should be remembered even when batteries are changed.
Make sure its in N02 mode.
If that's OK, lower voltage/wattage setting.

You're going to get lots of opinions here. I like top wicking clearos, they seem to last longer with darker, thicker juices, IMO. I use the cheapy plastic CE4 type ones and get them in bulk so I toss them when they go bad. I've never got a mouthful of liquid from them. But if you want glass, someone mentioned this glass Vivi Nova to me today that I want to try: SmokTech Pyrex 3.5ml ViVi Nova Tank
Not sure if you have a protank I or II, but if you have the II you have one of the best tanks out there IMO. If you are replacing atomizers every couple days you either have a defective tank or battery or running a combo of too much voltage with a low resistance atomizerl. Are you getting any noise when you pull (popping/gurgling)? What voltage you vaping at and what resistance coil?
I don't mind if I have glass or not. The guy at the local vape store just told me it was a good tank. I do hear noises like you asked and I have it set at 3.9 volts and 5.5 watts. I have no idea if these settings are good or not. I do have it on no2. It just seems after a couple of days it a really hard pull and leaves juice in my mouth. I replace the could and all is good again. Is this a common problem?
What type of ejuice are you using? If it is dark and thick, they will gunk up the wicks quickly as compared to a thinner clear ejuice.

I find that on my Protank 2 after about every 2 fills i need to clean out the tank and the atty or the taste starts to dwindle. I Have a few spare attys and I rotate them throught the week and then on the weekend i clean them all and re-use for the next week. Im a bit retentive about my flavors and always clean when i swap out flavors and use a new atty.
You could also do a dry burn after cleaning.. there are some videos on youtube that show you how to do that for the protank specifically. If you got the protank 2 it should be easy to clean. You should clean with warm water then let air dry or dry with paper towels if you are in a hurry to get back to vaping.
I have also started using the iclear30 and i like the results im getting from that tank as well. Thats a dual top coil wick. The draw on it is tighter but i usually need to run that at a higher voltage or wattage. I stay around 4.1v or 10w with a 2.5 coil. On my protank i stay at around 3.2-3.5v or 7-8w on a 2.5 coil.

There are some things you can do to extend the life of your coils. You can soak the coils in some sort of alcohol (either isopropyl or a clear drinking one like vodka) overnight after they start to crap out on you. Then rinse them off and let them dry. Another thing that people tend to overlook is to empty out the protank every few refills. Your juice probably darkens as the tank runs out and when you just top it off without emptying the sediment left over by the last few tankfuls, you are going to have problems.
Lastly, the Protank is made so that you should refill once it gets to 2/3 empty. This is not hard to gauge. I just refill mine when some of the taste starts to go.
As far as recommending other tanks that are longer lasting, I really don't have much to give you. I have a hunch that the rate you are going through coils is probably user-error. As far as clearomizer-tanks go, the protank is probably one of the best. You might try one of the other pro-tank clones, such as the Anyvape Davide or the DBox Puritank.
Lastly, the Protank is made so that you should refill once it gets to 2/3 empty. This is not hard to gauge. I just refill mine when some of the taste starts to go.

Hey thanks a lot everyone! I did watch some YouTube videos and I clearly have not been doing any preventative maint. Thanks a lot again I am really new to all of this so sorry if it was a silly question. I cannot believe I have not had a real smoke in 3 weeks and the smell alone turns my stomach! Thank you all again, and if there is anything else you think I should be doing please let me know.
I love the protank 2...but always gotta remember to keep my voltage down unless the coils have been rebuilt to a higher ohm load...also wanted to second checking out the smoktech Pyrex tank it works really well and most of the time able to make the coils last a couple of weeks just cleaning it after a few fills.

Some tips i have picked up is to clean the entire protank once a month. I use just luke warm water and let soak the main parts for a few minutes and dry with paper towel. For the coil/head i use water for that but if you want to go further use vodka or grain alcohol as a first choice then isopropylol alcohol second as that can have other chemicals in it.
You might not want to but i do recommend learning how to rebuild your atomizer. If you switched to vaping because of money or if that is the number two reason then you should learn because the money you spend on heads is 10x more expensive than building your own. Especially with the protank since it has such a small wick.

This forum has been great! Unfortunately I only have one vape shop where I live and when I asked the owner about cleaning coils he told me he had never heard of such a thing and I must have crossed threaded it. So all of this info is great. I sit in a truck all day so this has been great. I do burn through a lot of juice but better then multiple packs of smokes! Thanks again!!
Haha sounds like that shop person or owner just has the stuff to try and make a buck! If you drive said truck for expediting or freight etc then stop by some shops if you get the chance! Some are really good and have tasting bars with great staff that will rebuild your atomizer for you for free! Im in the columbus ohio area and a shop called AltSmoke does it all and its awesome!

I dont even like hearing the words dry burn unless there is no wick. Taking a piece of paper towel to try and soak the excess water out of the wick then putting juice directly on it will suffice.
Cleaning is up to you but dont go more than five tank fills or if you have it in your pocket while you work a dirty job, like i do in a catering business, or just carry it with you the lint can get in there and gunk it up a little, so every two weeks maybe three at the most. I'm OCD a little and clean it every time i fill it up.

This is NOT a recommendation but tonight I user a denture cleaner disc in water to clean a single coil T3 tank. (15 mins) Then rinsed with water and dried with hair dryer. I was in a hurry to try a new juice. Worked like a charm. I am thinking this would not be a good idea with the wicks in a double coil iClear 30. BTW, I hated the juice ( lemon), just not for me!
