Hello new to vaping I am using a Russian 91% and a zmax I have had some success in the recent past but now it seems no matter what I do my tank is guaranteed to leak either out of the air hole on the side or out of the drip tip when I fill it. I have tried doing bottom screw fills and top fills but no matter what Im leaking out of the airhole, my wick and coil seem to be ok vapor is being produced when i prime and test it I just think I am doing something wrong when attempting to pressurize the tank, any suggestions would be awesome thank you.

Welcome to ECF, Kranden.

You don't pressurize a "pressure differential" tank... you create a vacuum.

If you don't have an adequate vacuum, either because you have an air leak, or because your AFC is so far open that your draw is distributed primarily to drawing in fresh air... your boundary layer isn't present and juice floods the atomization chamber.

The most likely candidate for an air leak, particularly with clones (you don't say if it's an authentic 91%), is a poor o-ring seal at the chimney to top cap tube.

Hi

If you cover the airflow hole and take a cold draw (no power) from the drip tip. You should get no air, if you do, something isn't sealed, as in O-rings. If you suck too hard, you will get a back up of juice. If that happens, wrap a paper towel over the air hole and gently(!) blow out the excess.

Every time I rebuild my KFL I do a customary leak check. Once its all together and before I fill it up, I plug the adjustment screw and the air inlet with my fingers (gotta kinda hold it funny), licking my finger tips helps make a good seal. Then I give it a good pull and seal it off with my tongue. If its leak free it`ll hold the vacuum. If its got a leak, it wont, it`ll bleed down.

I once had it leaking juice out of the air intake pretty good, and found out I had my coil a little too close to the air discharge and it was just dripping down (and it was`nt burning very good). I now give it about 2mm of space between the two.

Well when I do that there is no draw but the tank still leaks out of the airhole if i fill from the top or bottom, sometimes when i blow out the excess from the air hole after I fill it seems to be ok and stops leaking

I had similar issues with leaking out the air control hole. I probably wasted a couple of tankfuls of juice until I figured it out.

A buddy with better eyesight than myself saw that I had crossthreaded the plastic tank enough that it may have allowed an airleak, upsetting the tank vacuum. He also recommended that I replace the chimney o-ring. I rethreaded the plastic tank carefully and replaced the o-ring, and the leaking issue was resolved.

I'll add that I only fill and empty my Kayfun from the bottom fill hole, and not from the top.

Another potential issue is having too much or too little wick material. The cotton (if that's what you are using) should not block the juice intake. Cut the cotton so that it is just touching the bottom deck with the chimney in place. Kayfun-style tanks are rather finicky about the amount of cotton that is used.

If the tank seems flooded, blow into the airhole with power on to burn off the excess liquid in the combustion chamber.

The big guys have offered some good info. One thing I would add is that I top off my Kayfun for three or four tank fulls before I clean dry burn and re-wick. That's when I get the tank leakage at the air hole. I use the top fill technique so each time I end up creating a positive pressure inside a negative pressure tank. I just take my losses and blow through the drip tip and clear the excess juice out of the airhole (5-6 drops of juice). Kayfuns are worth the couple of juice drops.
