awesome post. would you recommend going for the aluminum end caps, or will the stock grommets work alright?
If you go with the Triple V tanks from Valley View Vapes, I'd
only get them with the aluminum endcaps. The silicone grommets that come stock with the tanks fit very snugly and will not leak, but filling with those is a pain. The carto will not slide easily through the grommets in order to refill the tank with liquid. You have to insert a blunt needle between the carto/grommet, or between the tube/grommet from below. Inserting the needle will pull part of the grommet into the tank with it, and you will need a tool like a dental tool to tease it back into place. With the aluminum endcaps, you can fill these tanks normally. The choice is yours to make, but having used these tanks both ways, I much prefer normal endcaps.

Anyone who uses cartotanks, I always highly recommend the Slap-yo-Moma tank tool from Big Daddy Vapor.
Stainless Steel Slap Yo' Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter [SYMSS] - $12.99 : Big Daddy Vapor A possible reason your DCT tank was leaking was damaged o-rings in the endcaps. The sharp edge of the cartomizer top can tear the rubber o-rings as it passes thru the endcap. These o-rings are what holds the carto onto the tank, and if damaged can allow a tank to leak fluid or slide off too easily.
The tank tool below covers the carto top during assembly and filling of the tank, thereby protecting the o-rings. It also cuts down juice filling time greatly as it prevents flooding the carto airhole with juice. There is a cheaper delrin model available on the website.
