Hey guys, I got a bunch of boge cartos and they leak like mad out of my DCT tank. I'm trying to get a decent tank. i know phiniac are great, but with metal caps, its around 80 dollars. i plan on getting a z atty in the near future, so i dont really want to spend 80 bucks on a tank.

im debating between the Triple V Pyrex 4ml FrostedTank w/ Al caps from valleyvapes and the Ibtanked w/ SS caps. its 30 from vallyevapes w/ the siam mod, and 40 dollars from IBtanked for just the tank/caps.

Anyone have experience with both of them?

I have three tanks from each vendor. I have the 7ml version of the Triple V, a clear and a couple of frosted tubes with the black delrin endcaps that he used to offer.

7ml clear and frosted Triple V pyrex tanks on Altsmoke BB and Silver Bullet.

I then I have 3 of the 19mm XL clear tubes from IBTanked, with the acrylic endcaps. OCD is also now offering a 25mm wide tube and SS caps.

Slim (19mm) IBTanked pyrex tanks with acrylic endcaps on BB, Provari, and Silver Bullet.

Both vendors have high quality glass, endcaps, and o-rings. The main difference is their juice capacity. I can recommend both and will order from either again.

i know its no help to someone lookin for a pyrex, but i have a triple v poly tank, and have had NO leaks since the day i got it.

i actually prefer the soft grommet/oring endcaps that this poly tank came with, i fill with a syringe with a unsharp needle, and leave the syringe down in the tank and put the cap back on, the little bit of room between the endcap/tank that the needle provides airspace so it equalizes the air inside the tank and doesnt flood the carto when you put the endcap back on

I have to say that Baditude is the bestest dude! Although I'm still too intimidated to put try and put the tank he recommended together ("Slap Yo Mama" doesn't quite cover slap the little old lady ) I haven't heard back for Ray at Valley View yet, but I'm wondering if this would look ridiculously large on an eGo, and if it comes complete? It looks like it comes with a carto, but are the "grommets" the same as the "caps" I ordered from IBT? Triple V Pyrex 4ml FrostedTank

awesome post. would you recommend going for the aluminum end caps, or will the stock grommets work alright?

If you go with the Triple V tanks from Valley View Vapes, I'd only get them with the aluminum endcaps. The silicone grommets that come stock with the tanks fit very snugly and will not leak, but filling with those is a pain. The carto will not slide easily through the grommets in order to refill the tank with liquid. You have to insert a blunt needle between the carto/grommet, or between the tube/grommet from below. Inserting the needle will pull part of the grommet into the tank with it, and you will need a tool like a dental tool to tease it back into place. With the aluminum endcaps, you can fill these tanks normally. The choice is yours to make, but having used these tanks both ways, I much prefer normal endcaps.

Anyone who uses cartotanks, I always highly recommend the Slap-yo-Moma tank tool from Big Daddy Vapor. Stainless Steel Slap Yo' Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter [SYMSS] - $12.99 : Big Daddy Vapor A possible reason your DCT tank was leaking was damaged o-rings in the endcaps. The sharp edge of the cartomizer top can tear the rubber o-rings as it passes thru the endcap. These o-rings are what holds the carto onto the tank, and if damaged can allow a tank to leak fluid or slide off too easily.

The tank tool below covers the carto top during assembly and filling of the tank, thereby protecting the o-rings. It also cuts down juice filling time greatly as it prevents flooding the carto airhole with juice. There is a cheaper delrin model available on the website.

beats me. im guessing that the normal size boge isn't reaching the top seal and air pressure just floods the cart and forces the juice out.

also do you think the aluminum caps are alot better than normal grommets they offer?

I'd definitely get the end caps, the rubber grommets are no good in my opinion. I've got 2 Pyrex triple v tanks, the 7ml and a 4ml sidewinder, I use the sidewinder the most, so easy to fill. The other advantage with the sidewinder is if your carto is getting a bit dry, just remove the side screw for a couple of seconds and it will be nice and wet again. No more blank draws to get liquid into the carto.

Will the Slap Yo Mama work with the silicone grommets?

I wouldn't let that keep me from getting at least one tank. When using the tank filling tool from Big Daddy Vapor, it literally takes me just one minute to refill a tank with juice. Watch the video I linked in my previous post.

No, it won't. :(

In order for any tank tool to work, the carto has to be able to slide out of the tank. The silicone gommets just fit too tightly for the carto to slide out, and also makes changing to a new carto a pain.

Are the aluminum caps as tight?

ETA: I'm waiting for the extra, super easy "Slap Yo Granny" to come out...

I understand. I have both of those tools, and I only use the Slap-yo-Moma tool anymore. It's a better design and much easier to use in my opinion. But they both will do the job. :)

To The Ocelot, the aluminum endcaps fit tight enough. In my opinion, the silicone grommets that come with the new tanks fit TOO TIGHT! I went weeks before changing to a new carto in my original Triple V's because I couldn't figure out how to remove them. Also, the Triple V tanks will look rather top heavy on an ego device. If you plan to vape them only at home, no one else is going to notice but you. My little black BB mod in my pics is wider in diameter than an ego, and they look top heavy even on it. But I don't care. :p

Just got the OCD from IBTanked today (regular size 19mm clear w/ stainless caps). It is awesome! Ordered it on Tuesday, got it in the mail on Wednesday. (I live in CA, $3 shipping) The build quality is awesome. Feels leaps and bounds more solid and sturdy than my smoktech tanks. Fits standard Boge cartos perfect. Working great on my ego twist. I got it because my gummy worm juice ate through the end caps and plastic smoktech tank. Don't have a triple V, so I can't comment on it. But the OCD is great. And for $28 shipped to your door, it's hard to beat.
