a day ago I bought a new tankomizer for my Tempest Ego 900 ce4 PV on my trip to visit sister. Worked fine on train, then later it started to work on and off and now it's not working at all. The battery works, its charged up. But no vapour or noise or anything from my tanko. Anyone got any ideas?

As stated by Ryedan... it's them little details what make all the difference there, Alvin.

No details and you get this -

ok well I edited it xD think Ill just chuck it and buy a better kit when I get home
Apologies for having a bit of fun at your expense. We do get a great deal of threads where no detail is given, yet "internet diagnostics" are requested... enough that it's one of those

situations.

I took a look at what I think is your kit, although I can find no reference to "Tempest" anywhere. I am assuming a typical eGo battery and generic CE4 type clearomizer. My best guesses, based on your - "on and off - not working at all - battery works - no vapour or noise" - description are:

  • A leaking bottom connector creating a poor electrical connection as the liquid functions as a sort of insulator. (not very likely).
  • A shorted to ground or broken (open) coil head (possible).
  • A coil head so gunked up (thick or dark or sugary liquids caramelize on the coil) that resistance prevents adequate heating of juice (possible).
  • A blocked primary air port (not likely based on your description)
  • A 510 post (the center positive pin on battery and post on CE4) making no, or intermittent contact (possible).
Best guesses I can come up with... some easily fixable, some less so. Do with it what you can. As you have an eGo battery, may I suggest you move to a more popular, reliable clearo... perhaps a Kanger EVOD or Innokin iClear 16.

Cheers,
SOF

Well I'm back home now: and luckly I saved my old tank and it works fine so I'm guessing it was just a crap tank. I still stand by what I said though, when I've looked around a bit and found a better device I'm having it. What I've got now isn't great really it was only a cheap one so get what you pay for etc

Anyways thanks for the tips all :)
