Hey all, so I started with a Smoke Anywhere ghetto e-cig and stepped up to an Ego, did the carts, drip tips, cartos, Ego-T tank, played with various ohms, etc. That lasted me about a year, and I needed to move up. So I got the Knight Rider VV (which I think is a Lava Tube clone?) and am enjoying the VV experience, and am now in need of some sort of tank/cartridge device to perfect it.

My question is, with so much out there nowadays, I'm finding a hard time finding the difference between tanks/tankomizers, clearomizers, cartos with tanks, and all of those variations. Can anyone either recommend the best product or explain the main things I need to know about the pros and cons? I'm also assuming that anything with a 510 threading would fit both the Ego and my VV which broadens selection right? Much appreciated.

Hi Lyrikal,
I like the stardust Clearomiser v2 or v3 with my Ego C. I like syrupy juices which always clogged up my atomiser on my 510T. SO using the clearomiser was a god send. Just fill it up and off you go. It is also easy to tip out juices and wash it under the tap, if you made a bad tasting batch. Doesn't leak like my cartridges on the 510T. You can always get the vendors to confirm. I only just found out that I can use standard or low resistance clearomisers on my Ego C. You should check that out too. Good luck :)

A Vivi Nona is always a good place to start although, some people love em and others hate em. I'm personally in the middle ground but I would consider it a reasonable tank system for the price. It has replaceable heads (~$1.50 each) so you don't have to toss the whole thing out. If you're willing to spend the extra money on cartos, I would recommend Boges (I've noticed they've gotten a bit better again) and a Triple V Polypro Tank (won't crack/leech from any juice) from Valley View Vapes.
There are a ton of options out there but I don't think you could go wrong with either of those

I am currently in love with the Vivi Nova on a variable voltage device.
I too transitioned from the ego tank, to Carto, to clearomizer, and now the nova.
Be sure to get the true vivi nova by vision. As there are many second rate clones out there that will ruin your experience. I purchased mine from got vapes, but my variable voltage devices are between the vv gripper and the torpedo chrome (from totally wicked). I have found that I purchase my devices and juices from no less than half a dozen vendors.
Hope this is helpful.

I responded to a similar question in this link: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/343294-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212

If that doesn't help, please return with more specific questions. :)

Hey all, lots of info over here, appreciate it very much.

After reading some of your posts and doing some research (awesome link by the way Baditude), it looks there's really no better way to learn what works best than to give everything a shot at least once. It looks like everything I wanted was a toss up between products offered from Elixir (absolutely love their liquid), NicFitNation, Electrovapors, and Cdn Vapor, but I will go with the ladder, mostly due to selection (one/stop/shop) as well as shipping (I'm in Albeta). That being said I'm going to try out the Ego Stardust V3, the 510 DCT system, and the ViVi Nova, and will be more than happy to come back on here with some reviews shortly.
