I am new to tanks. They have allowed me to resurrect VV's that I have. I am a simple guy that got tired of dripping and went to bottom feeders. Now I bought my first tank from IBTanks but $30 bucks is kind of expensive plus shipping. The concept is so simple and "O" rings do not cost that much. Believe me I understand that people have to be compensated for their concept and design and they have a great Tank I love it. I am not picking on them. I will probably buy another one because it allowed me to have more choices of which VV I want to use. I have been reading post's on tanks and clero's all weekend looking for a good and reasonably priced Tank. All the posts has only made it more confusing as to what a descent and affordable Tank I can purchase. Does anyone feel the same? Like I said I am new to tanks and for my first one I got one from IBTanks. After reading all of the recommendations it is great and I am glad that I got one from them. Sorry to them if this comes off negative to their Tanks it is not meant to be. As far as I am concerned I made a great choice getting my first Tank from IBTanks.

I am also a carto tanks user, and I have several IBT tanks. Love them. But I get what you are saying about the price.

Recently I have tried out the Aspire BDC Clearomizers, and I am very impressed.
Vapor comparable to cartos, maybe a bit cooler vape.
Great flavor! A different flavor from cartos. I have vaped the same liquid side by side, and both taste great, but different. Different flavor tones are prevalent in each, especially with complex blends.

Now they are very different systems. My cartos are single coil and run 2.8-3 ohms
The BDCs are bottom dual coils, and run 1.8-2.1 ohms
So that may be where the difference is.

The Vivi Nova Pyrex Aspires can be found online for under $15. The replacement coils are about $2 each, but seem to last longer than my cartos do.

I found a good deal on the classifieds here and picked up several tanks and coils real cheap. Keep an eye out if you wanna try them.

I have two cheaper tanks and one I threw away last week after the tank slipped off the carto for the 10th time. Dumping juice isn't fun. The other cheaper one I have is plastic so I have to watch the juice I put in it. I'd rather use glass so I don't have to use any unnecessary brain power on these kind of things. I like the IBTanked tanks, especially the look of them.

$30 is not expensive for something that will last. I have replaced o rings and washers (the flat piece between the cap and tube, and that is it. Oh and $6 to replace a tube I shattered. I got my first IBTanked a year ago, and have gotten many more since. I never looked at the cheaper ones because these just work well.

In addition to my IBtanked I also use these:

SMOKTech Pyrex DCTank Glass DCTank

I know they're considered "cheap" tanks but I have been using them for a couple months with zero problems. I even want to say they fit as tight on the cart as my IBtanked do. Have had no problems with leaking or flooding at all. Good luck.

Are you looking for an alternative tank for your cartomizers? Or are you more interested in trying out something else, like a top or bottom coil clearomizer?

I'm now into RDA's and rebuildables, but prior to that, I was an avid iclear30-S user. Very good flavor, vapor and good draw resistance.

Will handle higher power without a burnt taste (depends on the juice you are using too) and quite simple to use. Its a set it and forget it topper, no need to modify/rebuild simply because you cant. The replacement coils are meant to just be discarded. Keep in mind also that the coils can be used up to 50-60 refills. Downside is the tank is plastic, so you have to be careful about which juices you intend to use.

Just some commentary from my 1.5 + years of experience in vaping. I've tried nearly every clearomizer on the market, and many of the different cartotanks on the market. I've yet to find a clearomizer that can top a cartotank in flavor and consistancy. IMHO, nothing gives a better value vs price as an IBTanked pyrex cartotank.

There are certainly cheaper cartotanks available, but I wouldn't waste my money on them. There are certainly more expensive cartotanks on the market, and I wouldn't waste my money on them, either. Some might look "prettier", but they aren't going to perform any better than an IBTanked. For the $20 - $30 you'll spend on an IBTanked, you'll not find a better one for the money.

I misunderstood the OP's post, I was sort of under the impression that he either wanted something different that was cheap, easy but effective, maybe something to give away to a new user or just an alternative tank that he could take on the go and not care about breaking.

As for flavor and consistency of a carto vs clearo, that seems to be the proven case, but I always preferred the taste of a top coil clearo, at least with what I had at the time to compare with.

For example, I was getting more flavor and vapor with a 1.8om resistance iclear16 off an ego-c upgrade battery than I was getting from a 1.5ohm resistance DC Smok cartomizer off the same battery. My e-juice preference is as high as VG as possible, so perhaps the coils were not juiced as they should have, but I never had a problem with dry hits either.

IDK, I'm also thinking I wasn't using the cartomizer properly, or using it at its max potential. Perhaps I should have tried a single coil instead, but the dual coil carto on my MVP2 wasnt hitting like my iclear30S as well.

Any advice on that? I recently gave away my mini U-DCT tank & ego battery to someone just starting. She likes it so far, so once the cartomizer needs to be replaced, would you recommend a single coil over a dual coil if its going to be used on a 900 mah ego battery?

This was the tank I was referring to:

Thanks in advance!
