I agree with what you say about Blu.
They also got me off analogs, but I’ve outgrown them and moved on. There are better PV systems and worse PV systems, but many like you and me quit using Blu.

Regarding tanks vs cartos, they both have their places. At home I often use a stardust, but when I’m out and about I use cartos because I won’t stick a tank in my pocket for fear of leaking.

What are you thinking of getting for your next PV?
Hearing what you want, your lifestyle and budget can factor in what’s best for you now.

I have been looking at the ego lines. I get to work from home but go out a lot running errands and such. Tanks seem like they have problems leaking and cartos need to be topped off more often. I would like to be able to charge up my batteries over night while I sleep and have whichever method ready in the morning and not really have to worry about batteries.

Ok so I understand a tank system and a cartomizer/atty... But can anyone explain to me a carto/tank system?

A tank system has the cartomizer inside of a tube. You will see a metal tube inside of the plastic/glass tank. That metal tube is filled with material and the coil. It has a hole punched into the bottom of it. You fill the tube up with your liquid and it drains through the hole and into your material which absorbs it and feeds it to your coil.

Is that what you are asking about?

Welcome,
Don't fret, it takes a while to get all the jargon down. That's what we're here for :)

IMHO, carto/tanks (I use DCT V2's) made vaping simple for me. I use Boge cartomizers (cheap, always available, and last a really long time if always kept wet) with a 3.5ml tank (plenty of juice). I keep 4 of them filled (top them off at night) and then just switch around for flavor changes through out the day.

A couple tips: punching cartos (instead of buying pre-punched) it's easy and let's you set them up for what ever juice you're using (e.g. 2 holes for thick juice, etc...). You can get a standard 1/4in Saddle Valve at any hardware store for ~$6 and they're good for about 50 cartos (before I sharpen the needle with a dart sharpener)

I like both cartomizers, tanks and clearo's.

If you get something like a kgo you can use something like Vivi Nova's, 1.7 ohm Resurrectors plus a DC Tank. In fact those are the 3 ways I vape.

The first thing you gotta do is actually decide on a power source then ask what you think you outta put on it for top performance.

You don't want to let your batteries charge overnight and it's not a good idea to leave them unattended during charging either. It's best to remove them from the charger as soon as possible once they're done.

you could look into a bottom feeder. a vmod specifically if you need an out and about PV.
Mine goes every with me, even to the bathroom o_O

i find that it takes the best of what tanks offer without it leaking on me at all. though, like most bottom feeders, you'd likely will end up using an atty on it. you can also use a carto on it if you prefer them.

here are my personal generalized pro's and con's though

~tanks
-- pros
holds extra juice to vape
can use any cartomizer on it with a punched hole (punch your own)
some are aesthetically pleasing. very very aesthetically pleasing on my eyes. (different colors, styles, metals).
cheap(er then a bottom feeder set up.)
various sizes to accommodate your vaping needs (2.5mL~8mL of extra juice)
-- cons
they can leak
"spinny" and can slip off easily
feeding the cart will depend on how big or how many tiny holes you punch in your carto
will not fit all mods; it can block air flow in some mods
strong cinnamon juices will crack some tanks; making them leak and eventually break.
hard to fill back up unless you get the very expensiveness tank systems with a hole and screw in the metal for easy feeding.

~carto's
with a good carto, it can last hours before you have to top off
very cheap to replace
easy to fill
no fear of leaking
come in different sizes as well (standards, xl, mega, mega xl)
will fit all mods with non-proprietary connections
--cons
so many "knock offs" it's hard to keep up with what's what. so with that said, lots of weak cartos out there. same for atty's however.
smaller carto's will need to be topped off more
poly-fill taste/cart taste
easy to break if your not using proper tools to punch holes in them for tanks

to add on;
~atomizers
--pros
great pronounced flavor, more so then carto's
more vapor on a 3.7 device vs the carto counter part
more throat hit
performance-wise; it beats any carto (assuming your at a standard voltage when comparing)
can be as cheap as carto's
--cons
cheap atty's dont last long at all and you can go through 3 in a day if you chain vape like i do
higher-end models like i06's and hh.357s need proper maintenance to last long (weekly vodka baths; 1+ year atty)
you can pop the coils more easily
very harsh dry hit when it's dry
you need to top off atty's more unless used in a juice feeding device
can easily get flooded
no proper maintenance leads to a dead atty within hours (even on cheap atty's)
can leak very easily if over dripped

~clearomizers
--pros
you can see the juice (like with a tank)
self contained system
bottom coils (are what i'd go for)
--cons
very little juice can be filled in the smaller sizes
most can break easily
condensation was a big negative with me (problems of a top coil clearo)
after a while, my juice taste like crap.
will not work with 100% vg.

i won't list specific model pro and con's because those are specific up's and downs of those parts. these are just my generalizations of what i've had experienced using my equipment that i have.

no problem! i've had my fair amount of headaches going through learning process's. researching about the different ways to vape, devices, vv and vp/vw.

i still am not satisfied with all that i've had tried and am currently using though =\

i forgot to mention atty's also take time to break in. give or take a week.

if you want to learn more, pbsuardo is the man to learn from.

PBUSARDO FTW

Somewhere out there
Hands down for me are the pyrex glass tanks with Boge XL punched carto. The vape is clean, no plasticy taste, no worry of plastic tanks cracking from juices. I have tired several clearos and the Apollo tank, but nothing is as good as glass tank in my opinion. I get mine here- High Desert Ecigs Great prices for designer tanks. bnrk

I'm new to vaping and started with an ego setup. I'm still experimenting with clearos, cartomizers & tanks (on order), dripping, etc. My husband uses the reo mini and he just fills his 3 ml bottle, adds a carto and is done. I, on the other hand am playing with juice and changing devices all day long. I'm very tempted to put all these items away and get a reo mini!
