ok i build a tank and did the hole in my cartomizer but when I fill it it just pours out the bottom of cartomizer. Did I do something wrong? metal cart. I'm at a loss. any idea's.
I haven't had any of these problems I have 5 tanks, syringe and store bought as well. The holes I make are pretty small, about the size of an ink pen point. The other thing that might be happening is the type of liquid you use, too thin.
Better to start small and increase as you see fit than the other way around.
When you make the hole in the carto, don't go too deep. If you break the carto's inside tube, the fluid will just leak through. Once that inside sleeve is punctured, fluid will just keep seeping through and down to the battery.

One of the first cartos I punched with my homemade punching jig, I ended up going too deep but I knew it right away when I looked at the threaded end of the carto and noticed that the center post was crooked, I would bet it would have been a leaker
i've tried to punch my own also and had the same problem.Than i saw a post on here about using a self piercing saddle valve from home depot and that has been working out pretty well.
I haven't ruined a carto yet punching the holes... I tap it with a nail and hammer till it indents on each side...
then 1 or 2 more taps till I hear it pop thru the metal
if you didn't know tho you can buy carto punchers for around $25
