After almost 3 years of vaping, I just got my first carto tank - Pyrex with double-anodized end caps - and I love it. I have gennys and bullys and T3s, too, but for the past 5 days, I've been all about the carto tank. Still using he Boge that came with it, but I'm about to load up a new Fusion. I love the gennys when I can get them working well, but I'm still on the upward leg of that learning curve and sometimes, it's just too much hassle. And cartos are MUCH better than I remember from my early 808 days. Must be the tank. I'm about to head over to 505 Vapors and pick up a 505 Tank. Very sturdy-looking Pyrex tanks in reg or XL with aluminum (I think) end caps for $20.95. I don't think I can post a link cuz they're not an "official" ECF vendor, but you can Google them. Appears to be lots of bang for the buck. I've been eyeing the Cirrus tank, too - that one may be next if my carto honeymoon continues :)

EDIT: The tank I'm using now is the ION tank from Digital Ciggz. I think other vendors carry them by other names as well.

You really should check out the 505 Tank at 505 Vapors:

505 TANK

I got the XL earlier this week and just ordered the small today. They're really unique-looking - very beautiful in a minimalist sort of way. And for $20.99 (either size) you get the tank and a pre-punched carto. My advice is to grab a couple before they realize what they have and raise the price - or before everyone discovers them and they're always out of stock. Here's the XL on my Provari:

Using up to a dozen pyrex cartotanks from various manufacturers. My favorites are the IBTanked.

I also have a hybridized tank I matched up. Endcaps from Hoosier Vapes Elegance and sandblasted pyrex tube from Phiniac.

doesn't really matter that much which tank you get.
just get one.
you'll be buying more than one.
you'll always find one that you like better next week.
so your collection will grow and you'll have back-ups.

The great thing is that now, with places like 505 and IBTanked, there's plenty out there worth collecting that I can actually afford to collect.

I'm looking forward to getting my 3 6ml. sidewinders from Valley View Vapes!!! They should be here tomorrow (there need to be a cartwheeling smiley!!!)

I REALLY liked my 2 V-Core 2.0 wicked tanks - - - for about 2 days... :( At that point, they both started cracking like egg shells. My favorite vape is 1/2 clove and 1/2 orange/pineapple. I found out the hard way that polycarb tanks HATE this juice... I'd love to find polyprop or pyrex replacement sleeves for them, though. (If anyone knows of somewhere that does, please PM me.)

Oddly enough, my 3.5ml ViVi Nova has held up to my juice (YMMV); and, I like it. It's super easy to fill and clean.

My DCT carto tank is okay; but, it's a real hassle for me to fill. It hasn't cracked on me (yet), either. I might turn it into a sidewinder type tank; since, I ordered extra thumbscrews.

My next investments will be a couple of pyrex sidewinders from Valley View Vapes; but, I'm on a really tight budget; so, I'll have to wait a month or two before I can get those, even though he seems to have the best prices on pyrex sidewinders that I've found. (I really hate having to slide the carto out to top off my tank!!! I've dumped 2 tanks of juice just trying to top off...)

I picked up a Smok Tech 3.5 ml UDCT last week and really like the locking cap feature. I had an issue with my DCT tanks sliding and leaking which became an issue when traveling anywhere. What a mess. This one doesn't move at all. I like it so much that I ordered the 5 ml UDCT and it should be in my mailbox in a couple of days.

The problem with all these very beautiful glass tanks is that they are for cartomizers. If, like me, you prefer clearomizers we seem only to have the protank in glass. Nothing wrong with the protank, I just hope that someone will start offering gorgeous glass tanks in which one cat fit clearomizer threads and coils.

I'm assuming with the tanks being it's inherent size, might it be difficult to carve (fine/small) threads on a glass one?
I like clearos, but when some juices are able to crack plastics, metal tubes are a way to fix it (can you really call them clearos now?).
If anyone finds a glass threaded tank for my Vivi Nova, sign me up.

I bought two tanks from Phiniac and they work perfectly and more importantly they fit together perfectly. I found another well known maker of tanks, who I will not disclose here, and since they were much less costly than the Phiniacs I bought three and thought that I should be set for a long while before needing more tanks. These new tanks arrived and I took them apart and placed them in a bowl of very mild detergent soap to clean. I noticed before cleaning that the fit of cap to the glass was not nearly as tight as my other tanks. Well, after letting the parts air dry overnight I began putting them back together. The following is the reason for this post......when you clean your tanks either do one at a time or mark them somehow so that the same parts will mate up which each other. When I tried assembling my three tanks which were all thrown in a bowl at the same time different parts were paired with other parts. One of my tanks had caps that would fall out of the pyrex glass and none were feeling like they could be used with any confidence that they would not let go and spill liquid out. This is just a post to noobs which I am still a member of so maybe this is a stupid post but I now have three pyrex tanks that I will not use unless I can find some thicker o-rings to make a tighter fit. This is just a suggestion from a guy who wished he had done the one at a time route instead of "all in". Also, I did not use any soap on the o-rings, just water. I hope I haven't made an improper post and that just maybe it will save someone the problems I had with mine.

Is it a good idea to clean the tanks (no matter what model) first before use? And what would be the best method if I should? The reason I ask is I got a 3ml dct tank from V4L and I just filled and went- and tasted plastic, plastic, plastic. Not burnt mind you, but kinda like I had licked the vinyl seats in my family's old Lincoln Mark III.
