This happened to any of you guys? I was at a vape shop yesterday, was using some of the box mods of some of the staff that they let me try (I should probably add that it was at some higher than normal wattage), with some REALLY intense flavors, for whatever reason when I got home I couldn't tell the taste of my own juices anymore. Same thing today, got back home after work, been taking monster hits of Cereal Killer juice (the fruit loops with 4mg of nic in it), can't taste NADA. I can smell it ok and taste it when puffing out, but when taking in the vapor I can't tell the flavor like I used to.

I thought it was the so called "vaper's tongue" but I drank juice several times and still nothing.

This ever happened to you guys? that you can't taste anything anymore when taking in the vapor? :(

To be perfectly honest, in nearly a year of vaping, I've never been able to taste much of anything on the inhale; I really only get the flavor as an aftertaste, and a little while I'm exhaling, and most strongly when I exhale thru my nose -- and that's with a kayfun, which gives me more flavor than anything else I've tried. I have no idea if this will ever change, but that's ok; so far, it's working to help me stay smoke-free, and that's good enough -- it's plenty more than I ever got from any other quit-smoking method.

Exactly the same for me! Only exhale and most through the nose lol. I wish it wasn't the case, but it's working for me

Yeah, it took me a while to realize that I seem to not be tasting flavors as keenly as most seem to. Maybe it's just that 39 yrs of smoking has permanently fried my tastebuds, which is why I don't know if it will ever change. I had a keen sense of smell even as a smoker, and now it's about 3 times more keen, so at least I can get some flavor, via scent -- and I've heard that flavor is mostly about scent anyway. It doesn't really distress me, since it's doing what it's supposed to -- keep me from wanting to smoke.

Maybe after I've been smoke-free for a year or two, my sense of taste will sharpen as my sense of smell has done. In fact that may be starting already, since I don't like the Virginia I started with at all anymore, it just tastes sour to me, like something has gone "off". And since I'm starting to learn the DIY thing, I just use a lot more flavoring than most recipes call for, and from those, I can really get a strong flavor -- much stronger than any "bought" juice I've tried. But it's still more of a scent and aftertaste than an actual flavor in my mouth.

I also taste nothing on the inhale, and I wasn't a smoker before I started vaping (aside from hookah).

That's exactly it - the sour taste that threw me off

I still get that smell from any tobacco flavor, but not as much from the sweeter ones, like "pipe tobacco" type. I've started doing DIY as I said, and there is a flavor that really nails the smoky scent, without so much of that "sourness" -- Inawera's "Coffee Tobacco". My only problem with it is that it's not sweet AT ALL, and I dislike coffee that's not sweetened; but as an ingredient in a mix, that one really nails it, both flavors.

I find myself usually drawn to stronger flavored juices. Mostly cause of issues tasting some of the others. I think for it is a mix of vapor tongue and the damage 14 years of smoking did to my taste buds. Menthol flavors do seem to help a bit with the problem though.

Yeah, i can see that, but unfortunately I stopped liking menthol flavors about 36 yrs ago; for me, to get that extra "bite" of TH, I find that a hint of cinnamon redhot is good; if you get that *flavoring* rather than ejuice, you can get the cinnamony burn without sweetness.

I did try Koolada for a bit, but I find it disagreeable almost as much as menthol. Halo's peppermint isn't too bad, but it's not really sweet enough; it needs a good strong dark chocolate flavor with it.

I smoked newports long time ago, then did camels for years and quit for 3 years, then because of health issues, mainly my hand accident and back injury put me out of lifting weights and cycling and running I picked it back up, that was a year ago, smoked for a year and quit on my girl's birthday. Been off of it for over a month now and have absolutely zero cravings for cigarettes, I can thank vaping for that. Even though my girl gets on my case for spending hundreds of dollars in the past month on my new "hobby". But in the long run - I'll still save money. So at the end of the day, like rip says - smoking is dead, vaping is the future, and the future is now

She's just mad 'cuz you're spending that money on vaping instead of on her. :D Just point out that if you die of smoking, then you wouldn't be able to spend ANYTHING on her. :D

actually - she wants us to SAVE money. I suck at saving money, she's really good about it and doesn't spend anything on herself. We've been splitting everything, and I really mean EVERYTHING 50/50 since the first day we met, even now that we're living together she's really persistent on keeping everything 50/50. I know - I'm lucky. In all of my past relationships I always paid for everything and my exes just took the free ride. But we know we're blessed to have each other in our lives. It comes down to those few, yet very crucial points - support, understanding, friendship, honesty, loyalty, communication, love is built around all those things.

Anyway - I've tried the juice I got 2 days ago and I'm gonna go to the shop tomorrow 'cause something doesn't sit right with me - it's sour, unlike the one I tried in the shop. Btw this is a vape shop where they specialize in making their own juices, so it could very well be that someone screwed up when making it. Do you guys think I have any chances of getting a new one or something? I was gonna take my dripper there tomorrow
