LOL... I get that taste..... sorta like cotton candy or caramelized sugar........ I like the taste, but it can't be good...lol

...and actually, after reading someplace that cotton starts to break down around 200 degrees, ive gone back to silica....

Exactly...

Worried about a trace amount of hydrogen peroxide in cotton... but never thought twice about the carpet glue being burned in the fire safety boloney forced into cigarette manufacturing a few years ago.

We've all eaten dirt at some point... either purposely or just out playing/working in it. Yikes consider all the bacteria, molds, yeast and chemicals in dirt... LOL Surprised we're all alive given the silly stuff folks worry about these days...

ever look at the list of items on the box of food? there is something called "crude protien"... bug parts...

Cotton starts to decompose at temps above 150 degrees Celsius.
PG boils at 188 C and VG boils at 290 C.
Therefore, you are decomposing the cotton.

***So cotton for wick in an e-cig is not as safe as amorphous silica.

How can you be certain that what little breakdown exists is harmful though? Its not like when we go to replace our cotton there is less than we put in, so if any at all is to breakdown or burn off its so minimal its not noticeable

There might not be a right or wrong answer for you. Different people would have a different sense of taste/smell.

Some find that boiling the cotton gets rid of the cotton taste, some don't.
Some vape it until the taste goes away. (Might be user getting desensitised to taste).
For me, if I get the cotton taste after the 3rd or 4th hit, it's because I've used too much cotton.

So it actually depends on each user. But I would suggest using less cotton since it's the easiest way to narrow down the problem.

hey, don't get me wrong guys...... I absolutely love the taste of cotton......... but, like I said........ it breaks down......
with silica, the only taste i'm getting is the juice, and I can live with that......... some can't..... and that's ok too......
and like someone else said....... still better than analogs.........
