Until now, I've used only Nova and Protanks. Decided to try dripping in order to taste test a ton of new liquids. I ordered some very cheap atomizers that I plugged into my VAMO. I added a few drops of liquid, turned the wattage down as they were 1.6 ohm atomizers and bluuughhh. Everything tasted like absolute ..... Almost like the atomizer was burning. For a sanity check I dripped a bit of a juice I'm well used to and it too was horrible. What am I doing wrong? Do I need good gear for this? If so, please give me a shopping list. The sad thing is, it was my first experience with a few highly recommended vendor's juices and while I'm sure they're good, I now have to fight this rotten first impression the next time I bring myself to try them. Thank god I got into vaping on good tanks. If this was my first impression it would definitely have been my last.

Go to avidvaper and on the homepage there is a 2 lr306 atomizer special. You will receive 2 LR 306 atomizers in your choice of resistance 1.5ohm, 1.8ohm, or 2.0ohm and 1 306 VII Drip Tip in any of our contoured translucent colors, black Delrin or white Delrin, and also in their new XL drip tips in black or white Delrin (+$1.50). I recommend you spend the extra buck fifty and get the xl drip tip so you don't burn your lips. These will give you the best flavor and last a good amount of time. I use these to test my juices and protanks for on the go. Between these and the protanks they are the only two nicotine delivery devices a vaper needs.

First, thank you! I had a look and it turns out that these are what I have (Ciscos at 1.5). Think I mightve blown them out or something?

I didn't blow it out, no.
A lot of atomizers come with residue from the manufacturing process and/or some kind of primer.
If so, that will generally taste REALLY bad until you get rid of it.

Without knowing what kind of atomizer and how many drops, I can't say if you didn't put in enough drops.
But not putting in enough drops can also lead to a burnt taste.

You may want to try the 2.0ohm ones. That is what I have and I like them much better. For whatever reason I get a bad taste when I go below 2 ohms with any coil. I'm not sure if it's the juice or what but you may want to try a higher resistance.

When you get new attys they often come with priming fluid on them. This tastes like pants, so job 1 - blow the atomiser HARD from the battery end over a sink, bowl or something to get as much out as you can. Just put two drops of a liquid you know well on it and try that. Try it around 3.5 volts - if it tastes burny, go lower. If it's fine, stay as you are, If a bit wimpy, push it up in .1 increments, You will benefit greatly from putting an Ego cone on your atty - it will screw into the Ego threads on your Vamo, while the atty will be on the 510 threads. This makes the vape better imho and also stabilises your set-up a bit (an atty seems naked set on top of a Vamo with no cone - spare its modesty).

Madstabber, I have been scouring the forum for information on what type of 306 atomizer to get. Thank you for posting. I do have one a question though. Most of the LR 306 atomizer product descriptions say that its not meant to be used with an eGo style battery. Seeing how my first set is probably going to be an eGo type, what 306 would you recommend?

I just want to add... you don't need 1.6 ohm atomizers with a Vamo. With the power range the Vamo has I'd be going 2.0 ohms minimum - but more SR range. There's no advantage to using a 1.6 ohm atomizer when you can use an SR and just turn up the watts or volts.

I dont drip often but when I do, I drip the Igo L.

Haha you have to build your own coils for that tho. Idk if your into that.

I second this. I own 5. By far the best dripper based on price and performance. Easy to rebuild as well.

Yeah, what he said. Somewhere in the range of 2.5 ohms would be even better.

See if you have some luck with cleaning them. Use the isopropyl and maybe some water. Then do a few dry burn to make sure it is you're not vaping it haha. On another note, make sure you are only using 2-4 drops when you are dripping. That way you aren't drowning the atomizer.

You know, a lot of the rda's like the octopus/squid come with a coil already built. You may want to look into getting one that already has a coil pre-made. You still need to check the resistance on your vamo. However, many of the RDA's will take a lot more juice than simply dripping on a Cisco or Joyetech atomizer.
