I was wondering the last 3 days why we need a locking mechanism to e-cigs that have a telescope. We can just unscrew 3-4 turns the telescope and battery will lose contact. Am I right on this?

Also that way we can reduce the length of the button and maybe make it a little different

I lock mine often. I think you could make a new button with out the lock as long as I can replace it with an original button with the lock.
A button with a quarter turn lock, no fuss twist to lock would be nice. Maybe a small key or post on the under side of the button that slides into a slot in the button housing.
Just a thought.

The Button lock is GG, i dont need another Button.

I agree with this post 100%

Also as for battery rattle while many will not be bothered by it I think many will as well. Battery rattle is one of the biggest comments from reviewers because some people just plain don't like it. Even if it is only when not in use.

If you want to make the button shorter I wonder if maybe an alternative is to make different sized battery posts and go back to the old style non adjustable throw button. With different sized battery posts a thinner one could give longer throw, thicker shorter throw and external button length could be maintained.

Yes I love the locking button - the only thing I would like better is if the button was still a little shorter. I wouldn't mind if the locking ring was the same size as the ring that touches the GGTS base (does that make sense?) But that might be too thin for some people - I think I would be ok with it.
Is there anyway we can mod a button to be a few mm shorter?

Not a big deal, I love my GGTS - that's just me if I HAD to choose something to change!

The button that came with the aluminum GGTS.. with round brass head and aluminum spinner for locking and unlocking is always on the device I'm using.. I can just spin it without looking to lock it and and twisting it on is so easy.

To be honest I do like how we can change the look of the newer buttons but I use the old buttons all the time. I hate the head spinning with the button pin. I always find myself undoing the venting cap and pressing my finger against the axis and trying to tighten what feels like the head of a drawing pin.

I never have this issue with old style buttons.
