If given the choice, do you prefer a mod with the handle that is telescoping for different battery sizes, or one that has 2 replaceable sections that allow you to use different battery sizes. The one with sections looks cleaner to me but I can also see an advantage of not having to change them out as with a telescoping mod. Your thoughts? Thanks.

It's an individual choice, like choosing a box mod or a tube mod.

I like tube mods and I like my tube mod telescopic. That's why I have a sigelei V3. I like to have the battery versatility without leaving too many tube pieces around. Mine will fit 18350, 18490, 18500 18650 and 2x18350. There is a second battery cap for getting the mod down to 100 mm in length for 18350.

I use 18350 once in a while when I really want small size. 18500 is used most of the time and fits well in my jeans pocket. I use 18650 only at home.

I have two V3s now and got very spoiled. I leave one set for 18500 and the other for 18650.

I recommend using Noalox on the tube and battery threads for all telescopic mods.

Telescoping is very convenient, but as yzer can tell you can lead to inadvertant damage. If you tighten the telescoping tube until "snug" you are over compressing the battery spring and can cause damage to the control head. There is a battery adjustment post in Yzers excellent Sigelei v3/v5 thread located here. Tons of information.

I don't have my Zmax anymore, but the suggestions in yzer's thread kept it in top notch shape to PIF to a friend. He loves vaping his "light saber".

It's always good to have as much flexibility in one device, if it can support multiple options, why not?
Right now I'm using the Zmax with a 18350, after a long time I only used 18650.
Personally I think having an extension tube (or shorter tube) will be the same as telescopic (how often will you switch battery size out of your home?) but will keep a more consistent design.

My turtleship, atomo's, hammer, nemesis, and others I plan on buying have separate tubes or extensions.. my telescopes I sold.. I'm not driving or walking around and suddenly think, "hmm, I want to use a different battery.. right now." The extra tubes stay in the box they came in if I may need or want them.. I also hate the telescope look.

What are you planning on, mech or regulated? Edit-derp..never mind :)
